Normally its shouuld not make.That mean there is internal loose or shot circuit. Better repair or change it fast, cos this can cause more serious problem to your notebook.

    I mean send it to a place that can repair (in my country some shop do repair old adapter) or best is to buy a new one.

    ** personally i recommend to buy a new one and test it first.

    incase you test and you still have the same sound then its a problem from connecter inside your laptop that is causing it.

My ZD8000 went off and will not come back on. First I thought it was my AC adapter b/c I had it do it before and I replaced the AC adapter and it was fine, but I got a new adapter and still it will not...

MOSFET on the front end behind the DC Jack is open. Usually an AO4407 (alpha and omega -30v 12a ) or FDS4435(fairchild -30v 11a) This will keep all voltage from going into laptop.

No power indicator
No charge indicator
No response to power button being pressed

HP zd8000 will not boot on battery

If every thing is correct ( the Battery, the AC adapter, etc ) then also the Power light is not turning on, then somewhere the power is not transmitting. The laptop must have a internal connection Breakage. Oh, I saw that you didn't mention AC Adapter. Have you checked it. Also check the the Control Board of the Laptop. Better you give it a Servicing.
Thank you Sir, Have a nice day.

Hp zd8000 wont turn on...

hi thanks for using fixya!!

Try first to remove the battery and connect the AC adapter to your laptop, you will use the power supply directly from the AC adapter without the battery. Turn on your laptop, then if its working normally as it should be,

Then try now to install back the battery then connect the AC adapter, turn it on. If still does not work, perhaps you have a problem with the battery.

If you need further assistance, let me know.

HP Pavilion zd8000 keyboard skips characters

The most common reason that your cursor skips around is that you are touching the touch pad when typing. Some are more sensitive than others. On my Toshiba I had that problem, but it has a Fn key that allows me to turn off the touchpad. Problem went away when I went to a mouse instead.
Had a client with a Dell with the same problem. I had to actually physically disconnect the touchpad and her problem went away.
Now as for the first problem, (the HP), I'd say you have a stuck key on the keyboard. It would make that noise.

I can't start my hp zd 8000

If no power check;

  1. If on battery take out battery and plug in ac adapter to a known good outlet.
  2. Make sure power connections are snug
  3. Make sure ac adapter connections are good.
  4. If ac adapter on power strip, turn off and on power strip
  5. Try again.
If theres no display try the following;
  1. Reboot and keep tapping on F8 to go to Safe Mode.
  2. In Safe Mode select "last known good configuration" and then press Enter
Still no display;
  1. Connect an external monitor, toogle to external monitor
Let me know if any these solutions work if not we can try something else

Battery or power cord problems

Problem sounds like the power pin ... where the AC cord connects to thecomputer. That particular component is very fragile. The part torepair it runs between $ 5-$15 but the labor to repair it will costanywhere from $ 100-$250. It can be repaired by you if you are verycareful taking the system apart. Just pay attention to every detail ofyour dis-assembly. I also recommend you get one of these to stop the problem from happening a 2nd time.

HP ZD8000 won't come on

Try to change the RAM and see if that helps the beeping. Normally, repeating beeps mean bad RAM. Not sure what the problem is with the disk drive, seems to be a mechanical problem. Thanks, Lolita
