Go to Mycomputer, rightclick and go to properties->hardware tab -> Device Manager ->and check if the drivers are installed (ex. Audio Codecs, Audio Drivers etc, realtek Drivers) or check for sound in your drivers Discs provided with your computer,
I hope this will solve your problem.

The computer is telling me that there is no sound device, although there is a sound card which has worked fine up to now.

Hi,

You need to reinstall the sound card driver, go onto the Dell website and you can download it from there.

Thanks

How do i download music to my computer

Hi,

If you're looking to download music,

http://www.limewire.com/ will get you where you gotta go.

Download the program, run it, and search for whatever you want. Be wary of files with strange names for they can be dangerous.

Good Luck :)

Can't view videos

Hi,
If its for on-line viewing then you need to install the latest Adobe Flash Player so you can view the video.

Get Adobe Flash here >>>>>>>

http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/

Once installed restart the PC and you should now be able to view online vids

If it just to watch DVD movies then you will need the latest codecs installed >>>>>>>

Get K-Lite codec pack here >>>>>>

Good luck

I have a HP pavilion dv7 1016nr. Listening to music through it sucks. I get a crackling sound on every track. I've gone back and played the track again to be sure it isn't my files. I.ve tried my music...

I have encountered several HP Pavilions with similar problems.

First of all I would suggest muting any input sources in windows volume control. (microphone (mic); line-in; auxiliary; etc.)
P.S. Voice communication software like Skype work better with the micophone muted anyway, because that way the sound recieved by the mic does not get echoed through your speakers.

If that doesn't help then I suggest updating the audio driver. The latest one can be found here:

Hope that helps.
