if you do repairs then disassemle the monitor.where the power cord is thats the power supply resolder the main components in the power supply. cause some of the them are not making good contact on the circuit due to the age of the monitor and constant heat over the years.
try factory settings - Press Power to turn screen off - Press and hold Select/Auto - Press Power to turn screen on. LED will be Orange instead of Green - Release Select/Auto - Press Menu - You will see 2 additional options (Factory 1 & Factory 2) - Exit as normal - To return LED to Green, Power off then Power on
To reset colour: - Choose Factory 2 - Choose Auto Color1
it could be the cable from the monitor to the pc it is defactive try a new one cuz if the monitor works then it is the cable that is makeing your screen go blank
