in the foot of the stapler there is an anvil that can to rotated to either turn the ends inwards or outwards
if the small anvil is missing that will be your problem

you will be able to find the manuals for the ps2 on the 7000 series please refer to page 12 of the manual.

if its a fat model on the left hand part of the screen when you click the link you will see "playstation 3000-5000"

and you can select that and find the manuals that way.

For the ps2 fat version the model number is on the back of the unit and the ps2 slimeline version is on the bottom of the unit.

make sure your tv is set to the right channel or input device setting mode.
