Question about HP Photosmart R927 Digital Camera
Camera is approx. 2 yrs old & won't charge. Even when it showed that the battery was fully charged, the camera would die while trying to take pictures (especially if flash required). Bought a backup battery while on vacation (camera - 1 yr old) & switched out between the two throughout the trip. Then, backup battery will no longer charge. Bought a second backup battery ... worked for a short while & then ... same story. On vacation in January, orginal (HP) battery started having problems & now I can't even get IT to charge. Is this a problem w/the batteries or the camera itself? Was on a different trip (once in a lifetime for me - camera 1.5 yrs old) and the camera would not work except intermittently - had to keep opening the camera, removing battery & replacing it to get any sort of pictures. Missed a lot of great photo ops. :(

You can try resetting the camera by removing the memory card and the battery, pushing a straightened paperclip into the reset switch inside the battery compartment, and reinstalling the battery. If this works put the memory card back in. Another option you have is to try formatting the memory card.

Try to run self-diagnostics test - press flash button while switching the camera on. One of them tests the flash functionality.

Make sure the battery contacts are clean. The rechargable batteries looses their charge even when they are not in use. It is important to fully charge the first time the rechargable batteries.
