    What model of webcam do you have? Perhaps it does not include a microphone?

Check the audio properties of your computer, 2x click the speaker icon at your system tray and make sure the mic option is not muted out, or in some cases, the mic option should be selected as a recording device. the mic option of a pc are usually muted out by default

I cant hear myself talk on the webcam but when i do the test its shows its picking up my voice even if i use skype and do a test no audio comes out
Are you using Vista? If so go into the audio properties in the mixer and make sure your camera is selected as your input device.

Because in the camera no MIC. The webcam just capture your video or pictures. if you want to hear audio attach a separate MIC

Microsoft lifecam vx1000 cant be found.
Did you check the Device Manager to see if an new device is recognized? Would be listed as unknown or other.
