Question about Samsung HL-R4266W 42" HDTV-Ready Projection Television
This is weird and hard to explain... Every 4 or 5 days, when we try to turn the TV on the red stand by light goes off, the green lamp light on the right blinks on and off once, we hear the clicking sound the TV usually makes, the stand by light blinks on and off once, then the green lamp light blinks on and off for awhile. Then all lights turn off and the screen pulses with a very dim light. Eventually the stand by light comes on again and the screen stops pulsing. When it is going through this cycle, pushing the power button doesn't do anything. The next day or even sometimes later in the same day it will work fine. We thought it might be the lamp, but the fact that it works fine for a few days leads us to believe it isn't. Any ideas??? Thank you!
Ok I can't be 100% sure on what exactly is causing this because it is caused by a few things. Ok the lamp yes could be the lamp I would start with that. Then I would try the Lamp Ballast. Then I would try the color wheel and the LDVS cable.... or last but not least the DMD board.
Now next time the TV works... check the LAMP counter. Please don't go tinkering around in the programmers mode.
Turn TV off and with the remote(not fast but not slow) press "Mute 1 8 2 Power"
Also when you replace the LAMP make sure you go into the service mode the same way"mute 1 8 2 power" and go down to the bottom to Options and reset the lamp counter.
I recommend that you change the LAMP... Its your call on going anyfurther than that please be careful.

Initially, have you tried a full hard reset? If not, pls unplug from the mains. Most current devices would reset and revert back to factory default settings (assuming no internal hardware fault) when unplugged for a considerable period of time (from a few minutes to a couple of hours).
Additionally, have you tried powering the unit using another outlet?
Pls post back for any development(s) or even the lack of it.
Hope this be of initial help/idea. Good luck and kind regards.
Thank you for using FixYa.
