Are you checking this through a browser such as Internet Explorer or are you using a specific program (Outlook, Outlook Express, Windows Mail, Thunderbird, Apple Mail, Entourage)?

Why do my emails to others show windows live mail not my personal email address?

Really need more info than what you gave.
Your emails are sending through the Live mail server. Your personal email? is that from your Internet Service Provider (ISP)? Check the setting or options on your email client (program) it should have a reply to field you could set that as your personal email address. It is also possibly where the setting is that is sending through the live mail server.
You might need to set your ISP as the default. For example I use Thunderbird. It checks my ISP email and 3 Gmail addresses but when I send by default I send through one of my Gmail addresses but I can use a drop down box to select a different send server if I want to appear as coming from a different address.

My hotmail account won't let me sign in with my password. they keep saying i need a security code and I have tried several times and can't get one. I have important emails to get into on my account

This is a security check feature and usually they want an email address to send the security code to and a couple of security questions in case you forget your password and want to retrieve it. If you do not have a second email address then set one up on www.gmail.com or www.mail.com and send the security code to the gmail or mail account. It is a good idea to have a backup email account in case the first email account is attacked by a denial of service virus and you can then tell a sender to try your second backup email address.

My computer keeps "auto-adding" contacts I already have. how can I stop this?

If you use Windows Live Mail to manage your Hotmail account, any email addresses that you reply to at least three times are automatically stored in your Address Book as frequent contacts. If this function is cluttering your contacts list and you want to deactivate it, you can do so through Windows Live Mail's Options dialog.

Open Windows Live Mail and click the "Show Menu" button, then "Options." Select the "Send" tab in the Options dialog box that appears. Uncheck the box next to "Automatically put people I reply to in my address book after the third reply" and click "OK."

I can recieve an E Mail But can not send one

Which is ur e-mail client i.e. r u using outlook express or windows mail or windows live mail in order to send & receive emails from ur e-mail Id????
If yes then i think u might not have set the correct address of the SMTP server of ur mail client while configuring windows mail or outlook express or windows live mail on ur notebook-->SMTP server enables u to send e-mails-->anyways follow these steps to set the correct SMTP server address:
open the outlook express or windows mail or windows live mail-->Click on 'tools' option-->then click on the option 'accounts'-->a window will open with a list of accounts or only one account depending on the number of accounts u have configured with outlook express-->select the account from which u can receive mail but cant send one-->if u r not sure which account it is then most likely it would be the default one-->After selecting the particular account click on 'properties'-->properties window will open up-->select the 'servers' tab-->under 'server information' u will find 'outgoing mail(SMTP)'-->fill the proper address of the SMTP-->u will find the proper address of the SMTP server thru google also ensure that u have selected the 'My server requires authentication' checkbox on the 'servers' tab itself-->if u r using gmail then search for the SMTP address of gmail in google & same for the others also such as yahoo, rediff etc.

Why cant I fwd a page or email out of windows live with my verizon email address?....Is this an HP exclusive? I miss using microsft outlook? Can this be done? I did create a hotmail address, But it comes...

can you email out of windows live with other email addresses other than verizone? I do not use verizone but it could have something to do with the setup verizone requires... I can send thru gmail server and hotmail with no probs... for hotmail address, let WLM set the account up itself... Or right-click on hotmail account you created (visible in the leftmost panel); open up properties and take a look at the server URL... This one works on mine: http://mail.services.live.com/DeltaSync_v2.0.0/sync.aspx
again for hotmail, you need to use a full login name i.e. johndoe@hotmail.com or whatever; and of course, check yr password...

If you have a google account, you need to set it up yourself. servers are imap.gmail.com and smtp.gmail.com... Also, under advanced tab; for outgoing smtp, SSL must be selected with port no 465; and for incoming, again with SSL selected port (for pop3) should be 995... Incomings are correctly selected by WLM when you choose SSL but you need to correct outgoing by hand....

And one last thing, if you are trying to send something out of your browser, in order for WLM to open up automatically, under browser's tools tab, under internet optins, under programs; you need to assign WLM as the default e-mail program...

Although these do not adress yr verizone question directly; hope the tips will help you along...

Cannot get or send mail. error ox8oocccod

Error 0x800CCC0D
Problem: When you try to send or receive email, you get an error message. It
says the error number is 0x800ccc0D.

Solution: This error is basically saying that your computer cannot connect
to the mail server. The most common and obvious cause of this is that you
are not connected to the internet at all. To test whether this is the case,
try opening a news web page like news.com or doing a Google search (just
opening your homepage is not a good enough test, because it may be saved, or
"cached", on your computer's hard drive). If this test fails, then the
problem is not with e-mail specifically, but rather with the internet
connection. For users on dial-up, you need to dial in first, and then you
should be able to check your email. If Windows is indicating that you are
already connected, try disconnecting and then dial in again. If that fails,
try restarting the computer and then connecting again. If that fails, you
may have spyware or your modem may have gone bad.

If, on the other hand, you are able to pull up web pages, yet still get
error 0x800CCC0D, you should check to make sure the mail servers are typed
in correctly. To check this in Outlook Express, open the Tools menu, select
Accounts, click on the Mail tab, click on the Properties button, then click
on the Servers tab. Or, if you use a different email program, follow the
equivalent procedure for that program. The incoming mail server should be
pop3.vcn.com unless your email address doesn't end with @vcn.com, in which
case put in whatever your address ends with instead of vcn.com (for example,
if your address is person@wavecom.net, enter in pop3.wavecom.net ). The
outgoing mail server should be smtp.vcn.com or substitute whatever your
email address ends with for vcn.com.

Make sure to check the mail servers for all your mail accounts if you have
multiple email addresses.

If you still get error 0x800CCC0D, and definitely can pull up web pages
(that is, the rest of the internet is working fine, only email is having a
problem):

* Restart your computer. This is simple, so you might as well try.
* Try disabling e-mail scanning in your anti-virus program. To do this
in Norton, double-click on the yellow picture for Norton down at the bottom
of your screen by your clock to open Norton. Then click the Options button
at the top of the window (if a drop-down menu appears, choose anti-virus),
then click the word Email on the menu on the left side. Uncheck both Scan
Incoming and Scan Outgoing. Click OK, then close Norton. Try checking your
messages again.
* Disable your firewall. It could be blocking Outlook Express, or
whatever your email program is, from accessing the internet. McAfee firewall
will usually not turn off even when you tell it to, so you'll have to go
into the firewall settings and delete your e-mail program from the blocked
list, or just uninstall McAfee firewall entirely using the Add/Remove
Programs control panel.
* Make sure you recieve replies when you ping the mail server. If you
cannot, something strange is going on.
* Try checking email using a different mail program such as Thunderbird,
or through webmail on our web site, and see if that works.

Other Cases

You may be able to get mail when you first open Outlook Express, but then
get error 0x800CCC0D from then on. To solve this, go to the Tools Menu >
Options > Connection tab, and uncheck "Hang up after sending and receiving".

Your email works fine, but error 0x800CCC0D keeps constantly popping up over
and over. In Microsoft Outlook, Tools > Options > Mail Setup tab > Send and
Receive, and uncheck "Schedule an automatic send/receive every 5 minutes"
(older versions of Outlook will have a similar option under the Mail
Delivery tab). In Outlook Express, go to Tools > Options, and uncheck "check
for messages every ... minutes".
