I have a Tappan double

I have a Tappan double oven and I want to clean the bottom oven. It has a "Clean" on one knob but I don't know how to use it. I have lost the book with the instructions in it. It was purchased in 1999 the last year they made them with the double ovens (one on top and one on bottom).
