How to Recover an Excel File for Free

1.Check the Recycle Bin--if you've accidentally deleted the file, it should still be there unless you've emptied the bin, and you can click on the file and recover it.

2.Use the Auto Recovery Pane when you open Excel. Review the document recovery pane. If Excel has managed to recover your file, it will show in a separate pane on the left-hand side. Identify your document in the pane, then click on it and choose "Open" to open the recovered file.

3.Try manually repairing the file. Click on "File" in Excel 2003 or the "Office" button in
Excel 2007, then select "Open" and click on the arrow next to the "Open" button. Click on
"Open and Repair" and choose from two options: click on "Repair" if you want to try to completely recover the file, or click on "Extract Data" if you previously tried Step 1 and it did not work.

4.Search for the file manually on your computer. When performing a system search (click "Start" and select "Search" in Windows XP and Windows 2000, or press the "Windows" button and "F" key in Windows 7 and Vista), make sure you choose "Advanced Search Options" and then check the "System and hidden files" check box. You may be able to find your missing or corrupted file using this search: double-click on the file name in the search results to open it.

My present operating system is not configured to run the ms office application, what should i do?

This means that when you installed the office application, your computer was running a different OS at that time. Go into C:/Program Files and delete the Microsoft office folder. Reinstall. If that doesn't work, then you have a corrupt/outdated version of office.

I deleted my Microsoft Office Activation Wizard

try this :
1. Quit all running programs.

2. Download and install the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility.
http://download.microsoft.com/download/E/9/D/E9D80355-7AB4-45B8-80E8-983A48D5E1BD/msicuu2.exe

3. After you have installed the Windows Installer CleanUp Utility, click
Start>All Programs>Windows Install Clean Up.

4. Highlight Microsoft Office 2007 entry in the list and then click
Remove. Click OK and wait for the process to end. If any other stand alone
Office applications (such as Visio and Project) appear on the list, please
also remove them. Then, click Exit to close the Windows Installer Cleanup
utility.

5. Click Start>Run, type "regedit" (without the quotation marks) in the
Open box and press Enter.

6. Locate the registry keys below and click Delete from the Edit menu.
Click OK on the following warning dialog box.

Note: Please go to File>Export and backup all the registry first.

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Office

Quit Registry Editor.

7. Delete or rename the following folders or files if they exist:

C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\OFFICE12
C:\Documents and Settings\<UserName>\Application Data\Microsoft\Excel
C:\Documents and Settings\<UserName>\Application
Data\Microsoft\Office
C:\Documents and Settings\<UserName>\Application
Data\Microsoft\Outlook
C:\Documents and Settings\<UserName>\Application
Data\Microsoft\Publisher
C:\Documents and Settings\<UserName>\Application
Data\Microsoft\Templates\Normal.dot
C:\Documents and Settings\<UserName>\Application Data\Microsoft\Word
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Microsoft\Office
C:\Program Files\OfficeUpdate12

8. Click Start>Run, type "%Temp%" (without the quotation marks) in the
Open box and press Enter. Delete all the files and folders within it. If
there are some files which cannot be deleted, just leave them alone and
this will not affect the result.

9. Empty the Recycle Bin.

10. To remove Mapi, search for and rename the following folders/files if
they exist:

C:\Windows\system32\mapi32.dll
C:\Windows\system32\mapisvc.inf
C:\Program Files\Common Files\System\Msmapi
C:\Program Files\Common Files\System\Mapi

11. Restart your computer and install Office 2007 again.

I forgot my ms word file password which can not be open how i open it, if you have any software which break ms word file password plz send me at irfanshah5151@yahoo.com

Glad to help YOU!

There might be a REAL PROBLEM...! Because Microsoft Office won't give up so easy... Unless you have saved online your password files-protecting... you have not too much to do.
But luckily there is a tool that will help you A LOT.
Download and install the OFFICE PASSWORD RECOVERY UTILITY (available HERE), open the file you want to recover and press the button. It adds the file to the "Working" folder and depending on the size of the file it will show you that the password recovery was an error or a success.
More details you will have HERE.

My best wishes!

I saved an .odt file from another computer and i can't open it in a 2003 microsoft word. what should i do to open the file?

Hi .odt files will not be opened by MS word as a default. Most likely MS Word does not have the latest service pack. For Windows 2003, download Office 2003 SP2 as a minimum (available from Microsoft)
Download, Install and reboot computer if required.
When PC starts, start up MS Word 2003 which will have SP2 installed.
Locate the ODT file and then double click it. As SP2 for Office 2003 is installed (or MS Word 2003) The file will now open. The formatting might be a little off, but for the most part, all the text will be there and you'll be able to edit and make changes as you see fit.

1st - You may need to cleanup the internet temporary files (Done through the browser)
2nd - Your computer may need to be defragged (takes time to complete), but does wonders.
3rd - You may need also need to perform a disk cleanup.
4) Go to the windows folder and empty the Temp (You can delete it and make sure that You create another Temp folder)
5) Defragment the Registry (You can do that by using software like Tune Up utilities).
