System boots up and comes to ASUS screen and says hold DEL key to enter BIOS. I do that and it just sets there and at the bottom of the screen says entering setup, but nothing happens. Yes, I have an OS system on it Xp-pro it was working just fine a couple of days ago, then I started tweeking the BIOS for some overclocking. I did pwr down the system and removed the battery and moved the jumper from pos 1-2 to pos 2-3 for 10-20seconds and the moved back to position 1-2 replaced the battery and booted up.

Still getting same thing I can not get into the BIOS.

Anybody have any suggestions, I have built 7 other computers for all my kids this is the first time to have a problem like this?

Do you have an operating system installed or a hard drive hooked up correctly to the mother board?

Please reset you're bios. Go to page 1-25 in you're user manual.
Follow the instructions from the top of the page.

While inside you're PC make sure all data & power connections are connected per you're manul.

Unable to enter Asus 6850 BIOS

I would start by resetting your bios settings to default; turn off your system, remove the side cover and gently pry out the board battery (round "button battery" such as cr2032). Leave it out for about one minute, and reinstall. Then see if you get a post screen.

K8v-mx moterboard sata not detecte bios and windows

Hi, you can download a manual here:

http://support.asus.com/Download.aspx?SLanguage=en&m=k8v-mx&p=1&os=

Please select your operating system.
Select manual and click on global for download.
Unzip the file before you can read it.
Its maybe just a setting in the bios that makes the fault.

Hi, i built a new computer but am having trouble getting into bios, the asus start up screen with the asus logo comes on but i cannot get the keyboard to let me into the bios and a beep sounds to tell me...

Press Del right after starting the computer to enter BIOS. A few ASUS motherboards use Ins instead.
OR Press F2 right after the computer starts up.
And try reconnecting your keyboard!!

Same problem

You need to flash the bios to a newer version for this cpu to be supported by your motherboard. Your descriprtion says asus so go to www.asus.com; click on the support link; lookup your specific board model #; select the operating system you are running. Download the latest bios file and follow the directions on the download site for proper flashing. Once you have flashed the bios everything should identify properly and allow you to continue setup. Hope this helps.
