Explorer crashing

Try this when you have started up your computer load up your dos shell, Inside the dos shell type chkdsk /f this will check your registry and other file sources and will automatically fix any errors within your registry etc at a certain point it will stop and report that it could not perform an action as windows is currently in use do you wish to run this the next time windows starts type y for yes and hit enter, Restart your computer and this will start the check disk and fix feature and once it finishes if it has found errors it will generate a report if it does not it will load as usual. If this does not work contact Dell technical support and if they can not help. Worst case scenario backup your data where possible and format your hard drive and re-install windows. I hope this helps.

Dell Optiplex GX 270 crashing on the Internet

Hi

Download a "stress" testing programme called Prime95 and read instructions / run it through. I assume that ALL the ram matches perfectly. If this tester crashes PC alot, remove one ram stick at a time, may actually narrow the offender down. Also bear in mind that a programme could also be crashing PC so try using control Alt Del and go into "processes" and shut down ONE at a time / retest. This will take time but will narrow down the offender. You actually only need to run Prime 95 for a short time.....till it crashes PC. Eventually once you have stability the PC should run with no probs overnight!!

Power light blinking

if the power just shuts off for no reason when booted up,it may be the power source is on the way out ,it will work for a while, but keeps crashing, thats the first thing to replace
also make sure you hear the fans working
if it overheats it has a safty shutoff ,
you can also use a house fan, aimed inside the computer while open, to rule out power source

I bought an HP Laptop 3 months ago (with Windows Vista) and the Internet keeps crashing when I'm online. It starts up again automatically, which helps, but I lose the pages I was on. Is is my PC or Vista?...

Try clearing your browser history & cache. When these get to full it causes the problem you describe. You can access these features from the tools icon on your browser>internet options. Hope this helps.

See if you can pinpoint your problem.

Try rolling back to the previous version of Media Player. Go to Control Panel, Add & Remove Programs. Click on Windows Media Player and select remove. It will give you the option to go back to the previous version.

Explore.exe, application error, memory could not be written

this is probably relating to explorer which is your desktop display for a specific programme. Explore as you say, or do you mean internet explorer, if so download updates for windows. It could also refer to a virus, so when you reinstalled did the recovery cd format the drive first then install or just install over the top of the original installation. If it did format first then it will not be virus. The system crash will be because the system is probably using up all the remaining memory.
