Question about Apple iPod touch
I connect my iPod to my computer and neither iTunes nor my computer recognizes my iPod. My iPod will start to charge but the battery meter varies greatly. Both my computer and iTunes recognize my wife's 30gb video and her sister’s 2gb nano when connected. Can you please help me?
when i hook my ipod touch up to the computer it nore the itunes detects it what so ever shall i do
The best solution to fix this problem is really simple. Only works on Ipod Nano or any other Ipod [Except Touch And Shuffle]. All you gotta do is:
1. Keep Ipod with the usb cable connected to your computer.
2. Reset your Ipod by pressing the round button and menu button at the same time and hold it for about 3 to 5 seconds.
3. After the Ipod reset is complete it should show the icon or itunes should pop up with the icon and your done. Works almost 100% of the time.

My brand new ipod touch is doing this but i have seemed to resolve the issue. I run windows vista and i have an ipod touch and i jailbreaked my ipod and this downgraded the firmware so nor itunes or my computer would recognise it deeming it pretty much useless.
Different ways of getting it to get recognised again include
-restart comp with ipod plugged in
-hold down menu and the sleep wake button till the apple logo comes up
-use a different usb port
-plug the ipod into another computer, preferably a mac and restore the ipod and then it will work on your system again.
The lastr method worked more me

I had the same problem also; (Windows Vista Machine), and in order to fix it, I reinstalled the iTouch device drivers, (Control Panal, Device Manager) and then had to reinstall the iTunes software, that was it, problem was solved...

Okey ! i guess there are two reasons for this possibly:
1.the itunes u're using now is not compatible with ur ipod, u may need download a suitable edition for ur ipod from apple official website;
2.there may be some vices about connector plugs of ur ipod, replace it and have a try again.
GL my friend !
By the way,if u need a video conversion tool for ur ipod ,cant miss this
i all through use it for my ipod touch,so COOL .

What I did is that I restarted my computer. It worked for me. Hope this helps. If it doesn't, sorry. Can't help. Either your computer is really old or your doing it wrong. You need to click Start, than click Turn off Computer. Click Restart. It should take a min to restart. Click on iTunes. You must have iTunes open before you plug in your iPod. It should work. Hope this helps you. LOL Ryan Fellows-Fitts

A 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
The service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

Look into the bottom of the iPod where the USB connects. Make sure none of the pins are bent and that there is no corrosion visible. Also, are you using the same cable when you connect the different devices?

put your ipod in disk mode by following these steps.
press and hold the Menu and Center buttons on the clickwheel. when you see the apple appear, switch your fingers to the center and play/pause buttons.
whena check mark appears plug it into you computer and it should detect and mount.
