I have a netgear phone and use skype to call long distance.   The person at the other end answers the phone but we cannot hear each other.

Maybe somethings clogged in the speaker or maybe you should get new speakers.

go to the setting on the handset -> advanced-> reset
I think the default pin is 0000
It will restart. I had the same problem and find the solution on line somewhere else
