You most likely have a clog in the dirt inlet by the brush roll or in the hose. It will overheat and shut down when this happens.

Wont pick up anythimg

Check your pick up tube. Use a straitened wire hangar to push up tube and check blockage. You also may need to change the bag. Some bags sides will clog with fine dust and reduce the suction.

Kobalt 10 saw blows dust everywhere ,even with a 2 shop vac connected to the dust chute .

It is possible that the dust chute on the Kobalt saw is plugged, not allowing the vacuum to pick up the dust. Run a rod through the dust tube and see if that clears it.

We inherited the shopvac 16 gallon. I bought the required filter (foam) but the dust blows back from the blow hole. Am I missing a part?

The foam filter is for use when using the vac. to pick up water. Now you should have a paper filter for picking up dry material. If possible you may want to look inside of one at the store. Hope this helps.

My steamvac wont pick up the water. it is spinning and blowing out the water, but it wont **** it back in

The most common reason for lack of pick-up is that the lid is not seated firmly on the recovery tank. Lack of pick up is always caused by an air leak. A less common possibility is that the large round rubber seal that the recovery tank sits on has fallen out of place. If you look at the bottom of the tank, you will see a round hole. When you install the tank, this hole sits on top of a rubber seal on the motor shell. Be sure the seal is in place.

When enough build up collects, then it starts to blow it out the exhaust. I would bet a paper bagged machine for the long run. They are cleaner,
