Make sure that you have the latest version of activesync for Vista, and try disabling your Anti-virus program to see if that is the problem.

Power button turns system on for about 10 sec then cuts off

One reason is.. CPU got over heat. Remove aluminum heat sync over the processor, detach the CPU carefully and clean the top surface, clean also the fan and the bottom of the aluminum heat sync...apply another silicon compound to the top of CPU. turn them back properly and test if there has good results.

After powering on monitor says no sync

I've almost the same problem. When the system turns on the monitor doesn't sync. After a variable trials with down/up the sync is enabled and the computer starts.A very clear event occurs : when the monitor can''t sync ( and system doesn't boot)you can hear very clear a high fan rotation. When I look/hear in the system the Isuspect the cpu fan. The system boots ( monitor syncs) when the fan rotationgoes from high to low. So the system hangs on an internal check on the rotation speed of the cpu fan.I've googled a lot , but until now doesn't find an answer . Possibilties which I think about : replace cpu fan , clean cpu fun ( but it looks clean).I cannot measure the fan rotation speed when the system is hanging. At normal rotation all info can retrieved witth the program cpu-z.Did you already have a solution ?

IPAQ Internet Appliance

You inquire on your nearest Internet Service Provider (ISP) for a DSL plan. DSL provides a bandwidth 3 to 4 times of the dial up.

As far as I know active synch which is the default app, does not support synchronizing subfolders. It is no question of firewall or antivirus, unfortunately microsoft designed it this way. There is a third party application though, Intellisync which is going to enable you to synch subfolders, however they will appear all in one big folder on your IPAQ.

Alternatively it will however take over the settings if you categorize the contacts and that has nearly the same "effect" as if you used subfolders. If you choose to use categories, then you can even keep your normal active synch, cause that it will synch fine. Not a bad thing cause third party applications are never perfect and Intellisync is unfortunately not free. You can add the categories to your contacts even while keeping your original subfolders in outlook, just match the categories to them and it will "look" perfectly the same on your IPAQ but yes you have to edit contacts one by one, so this is a one time big job then.

I have a 3660 and a new Toshiba Portege Laptop. ActiveSync does the Tasks, Notes and Files, but for Calendar and Contacts it says "See device" and won't sync them. Any ideas? I've done soft reset...

check to see if you can use the operating system you have with the device your trying to connect to, could be a compat issue with vista/xp or a driver, also try removing item and reinstalling. Contact mfg if all else fails for updates.

I'm not completely sure on what you are exactly asking here, but I'll do the best I can. If you have the Recovery CD, you need to boot from the CD and run the Recovery. When you go to do the recovery you will have two options, the normal recovery or the destructive recovery. If there is nothing important and everything can be wiped, run a destructive, but if you need everything run the other one. If you do not have a Recovery CD but have a Windows Vista disk that matches the version on your computer (IE: Windows Vista Home 32 bit is on your computer and you have a Windows Vista Home 32 bit disk) and you DO NOT need anything saved, just reinstall Windows. There is a product key for Vista on the sticker attached to your case. If you have neither, then you can probably get a new recovery disk by contacting HP (since they bought out Compaq). If you can not get a new Recovery CD, you will need to go out and buy a new copy of Windows Vista.
