Question about Sony FD Trinitron WEGA KV-34XBR800 34" TV
Stand by light flashes 6 times pauses and repeats. At first I would turn off TV for an hour and then it would cut on like normal. Can you direct me to the replacement part and let me know the cost? Aslo let me know the difficulty level of the replacement.

for my post #108 for a step-by-step solution with pictures. $21.83 is all it cost me. I fixed my own TV as many others on that forum have. Feel free to contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org if you run into difficulties.

There are several thing to check that can cause this type of problem.
CRT televisions, Espcially SONY need to warm up and will have sensors to detect when they are at the right temp before they try to display a picture. Sony does this so you get a nice presentation from black to picture rather then seeing a picture enlarge as it powers up.
The list of things to check start with the degausing coil around the tube and end with the tube itself. the rest of teh list is most every IC in the darn thing.
also all power supply voltages need to be verified.
Unfortunately repairing CRT televisions is one of the most difficult tasks for even skilled service people. Especially when you dont have a proper service manual.
