My GF broke our Braun handheld mixer type 4191 500W, trying to mix some figs, the mixer doesn't do anything anymore. I like the mixer very much. I poked a while trying to open it and look what is wrong. This is what i found to open it. On the top, where the numbers are to adjust the speed: remove gently that lid. Below that you'll find 2e lid with the numbers on (1-5), this you can get open by pressing inside the 2 holes with 2 little screwdrivers, push these 2 black tips away and the 2e lid can be removed. Unfortunately i broke my mixer up trying. Now it's open i see how it was. Good luck guys

Part 1: Opening up the Braun handheld blender/mixer turbo 600, typ 4191.

Having tried al sorts of ways to open our 600 Watt 4191 Braun, I eventually took a handsaw and a Dremel. Since at the tools mounting end there seemed to be a joint, I took the saw there first hoping to open that joint with only little damage. I was able to take to motor and the front part of the machine out of the grip-unit. (Irreversible!!)braun blender 4191 motor part - 83682c95-014d-4ad2-bfbb-42a00a370249.jpg

I don't know if this will be helpful but I personally have experienced a number of small motorized products where there is a micro fuse placed in series with the motor windings and actually wrapped with-in the motor windings. Unfortunately by the time it is discovered it is not worth trying to repair. I would no be surprised if this is your situation. And yes, they put the fuse in the windings in addition to the normally accessable one. Go figure. Take care.

Unfortunately my braun 4191 motor is no longer working - I suspect it is the thermal fuse that others have alluded to. I would happily buy a new unit, because I already have all the attachments and have found this a very versatile product, but it seems the blender unit is no longer available to purchase anywhere, unless otehrs no differently?

The fuse inline with the motor windings that Mark57702 mentions is most likely a thermal fuse. Thermal fuses open when the surrounding temperature exceeds the trip temperature value of the fuse. If care is taken and one has technician experience, these fuses can be replaced.
Fuses that are not imbedded with the motor windings are usually current overload fuses and blow when there is an over current condition.

If it is the same as the Braun 4179 (300w) hand blender it can't be done other than to replace the flex at the top. The rest of the unit cannot be opened and is non-reparable

SOURCE: Braun type 4191 blender shaft

I had the same problem, the authorized service told they cant fix it, so i tried it. First, I show you the solution:

You see the black one you attach the heads to. The axis come from the motor with the little teeths: the black plastic wore away that's why the motor works but the end doesnt rotate.
You can simply pull the black one out with a pliers with medium force and if you get a new one(thats the hardest, they wont sell you) that will works.

For the mankind, ive totally flatten out my type 4191, so i show you some pics, how to solve yours:

if you had problem with the motor, simply cut it half. You wont harm anything, the motor is in a metal cylinder.

If you have some promblem with the electronic part, its in the end of the blender. You can open it at the top, but you cant reach anything form there, nor here, sad story.
finally some photos from the bottom:

Part 3: Opening up the Braun handheld blender/mixer turbo 600, typ 4191.

The front end and the motor are a cast-joint part. With one more circumferential kerf, the grip-part came free, also showing that there is no other way to open the machine irreversibly.

It also showed that the contacts between the motor and the print are/were relatively loose, which amazed me for a motor of 600 Watt. And in my case: they were burnt. That explained the machine not working. It is surprising that the thermal safety didn't kick in when my wife used the machine

My Braun MR5500BC Multiquick professional handblender is now not working but I still do have all the accessories still intact. Is it possible to buy the motor part of the blender only?

I have a Braun Vario Model 418 hand processor - motor works fine but when attached to the blender, the blender shaft vibrates - if you look into the inside of the blender, the shaft is shaking - may be some support is missing. Can any one advise what can be done.

I believe that the motor of Braun MR 5550 CA MultiQuick Professional Handheld Blender is burned from electricity overload and i want to ask if this motor can be opened to be repaired & how this can be...

The motor in Your Braun MR 5550 CA can not rewinded like other motor in some equipmnets like motos in grinders for example.
You need a new motor but their always a question before you proceed you must ask the total cost including labour since this might be very near to the price of brand new blender. Just chect it out.
Good luck

www.smallappliance.com. you can order a new blender blade which has the white nylon teeth or you can order the coupling which is the black teeth that the jar sits on. NOTE: the black one is easy to replace, but getting the screws out of the base is the hard part.
