Reposition your speakers differently so that your "standing wave" factor changes; Closer to the wall= more bass; further away= less. Also try corners and various angling...accordianman

Can I use this receiver with my 50 watt max speakers?

Yes.
However; there are quite a few factors that are going to effect the performance you'll get with this equipment combination while ensuring you won't damage them. Speaker design type and what you'll be listening to with them are just the basic of basics.

Do not attempt to drive additional bass. It is probably best that you adjust the bass with the tone control to roll it back below input level.

If you hear distortion of any kind, it's too loud.

Using satelite speakers on arcam avr100

Depending on the type of satelite speakers, Bose for example used on their own would be damaged, if your satelite plugs into a sub speaker they are protected by circuitry that controls output level when tied into the whole system, so using them on their own is not a good idea.

If you adjusted the Speaker Setup Distances and Volume according to the menus there should be no excessive response from any of them. The manual doesn't actually explain how or why you want to do this but you should do it. I imagine the menus will guide you.

There is a support link if you wish to know more. It should be up to Philips to provide sufficient documentation and if it is not so they should hear it from a customer (you).

Hello there! I have an 8-10 yr old Bose Accoustimass 10 speaker system connected to an Onkyo TX-DS595 receiver. After moving and setting up my system the Bass Module has almost no base coming out although...

What is your crossover setting set at?
If it is set at 40 HZ, this would explain weak bass; as that Bose system sends ~120HZ down to the sub.

I reccomend checking the crossover setting to 120 or 100; with all speakers to small.

You may need to increase the db setting on your sub as well......

Good Luck.

after NiCd batteries are recharged many times they develop a memory and will not maintain a charge past the time that they were again put on the charger. If this doesn't make sense, do this: buy new batteries and install them, and keep the old ones for spares

MY KNOBS ON THE RIGHT OF THE REACEIVER BROKE OFF.... 1 FOR BASS AND TREBBLE ONE FOR IMPUT SELECTION HOW CAN I GET IT FIXED

that depends if the knobs or the shafts are broken.the knobs are easily replaced as they just pull off. the controls is a different problem as they are soldered into the pc board.the input selector switch will have alot of pins and the bass and treble 6 pins each.the front panel has to be removed, the lock nuts taken out and sometimes the input selector has a small pc board that is wired to the main pc on a connector, and the replacement comes with the pc board.the parts can be got from sony parts or an authorized repair depot.unless you are really good with electronics,it is best left to a pro to fix,the power supply in that unit runs on over 100 volts dc

Is denon 1356 with active bass. and i want to know the difference between active bass and passive bass.

Hi....

A passive bass is a box with a sub-woofer in it.
An active bass is a box like that with an amplifier built in.

Hope that helps.

Check the Denon site too

My Fender Bassman 100 amp keeps buzzing.

Part of the power supply is a filtering stage that completes the conversion from AC current to DC. The "cap" is a capacitor that furnishes voltage to help smooth the alternating current that is left from the rectifier stage. These will start to fail over time. While it is a relatively simple repair for anyone that does this for a living, I would not suggest this as your first repair. Expect a parts cost inthe $20 range plus the local labor rate for the entire repair.

I have a Holden Wasp XL base amp. 100 watt?? Quite old, 70's ish. CAn you tell me how many and what size speakers it will run. Thanks, Lance

hell yer, built in New Zealand... or Aussie, cant remember. Best sort of speaker box for bass is 4 x 10inch quad box. Next. a single 15 inch, or use both together. The head you have I think was more of a PA system than a bass amp, but will certainly do the job. So long as you are not trying to keep up with a Fender twin, or a Marshall stack. 100 watts don't go far for bass. I would go for the single 15 inch driver to more the most air.
