Might be overheating and might need a firmware update. I'm guessing overheating.

I DID THE BOOT UP WITH THE THREE RECOVERY DISCS, AND NOW ALL I GET IS A BLACK SCREEN WITH A FLASHING CURSOR

The problem was most likely a heat problem. So, that problem is still there. Switch it off and remove the cables. Then, take off the side panel and look at all the dust inside. Using a very soft 1 inch paint brush, gently loosen the dust on the fans and around the insides. (You could use a can of air from a computer shop to do the same job, this will stop you causing any damage to the delicate parts on the motherboard.) Then re-assemble the case and connect the cables turn it on and see what happens.

  1. Manually turn ON your device (TV, VCR, Cable Box)
  2. Press and "HOLD" CODE SEARCH
  3. Press and release the device button you want to set up (TV, VCR, Cable Box) However, if you are using AUX for a device, press and release AUX first and then the device button for the type of device to be programmed (TV, VCR, or Cable). The selected device button will flash once.
  4. Release CODE SEARCH.
  5. Press OFF/ON repeatedly until the device turns off (you may have to press up to 100 times at a rate of once per second).
  6. Once the device turns off, press and release ENTER.
  7. With the device on, press any other button. If the device responds, no further programming is required. If the device does not respond, repeat steps 1-6.

Hello have a problem with tv Model is: lg

http://lgknowledgebase.com/kb/index.php?View=entry&EntryID=6281

The above link goes to lg's website describing the red flashing light where the power switch is, and

another switch down below which can turn that light off.

Try switching that other switch below off so the light turns off. Then, switch it back on.

If that doesn't work, then service should be scheduled for this discontinued model.

Hope this helps on your lg tv.

Open it up and unscrew the screws around the CD reader. Then pull it back from the edge of the tower. You know, give it space between itself and the button. It could be the tower itself that's pushing on the CD reader.

If not, then update its drivers. That's fairly obvious.

Power button just flashes will no turn off AND nothing on the screen

On back of the computer is a on off switch for the power supply, or unplug the computer for one minute. Turn the switch back on, or plug the computer back in and try to turn it on.

Every time i turn my lg plasma tv on the on light just flash's but the tv won't turn on

Hi Willydogg,

To my knowledge, if this occurs in a plasma TV, then it might be an issue with the board located at the base of the TV (where it governs color distributions and stuff like that). You might wanna call down the LG techie to come and change the board for you. Hope this helped.

Red light flashing on power button

Sounds like the hard drive has had a failure, you need to get a replacement one, and reinstall it, along with the opperating system, and any other programs that were on the old one.
