Did you starts the laptop, with the Windows CD inserted already?
let it start with the CD and it will discover there is already an operating system. It will ask to reinstall or to repair the errors. Choose the last option, so you don't loose your data.

The best windows for my laptop Fujitsu Siemens intel(R) Celeron(R) CPU 570 @ 2.26GHZ , 768 of RAM

That one will barely be able to run Windows XP. You might want to consider an open source alternative like Xubuntu.

Hi,

Solidworks should run fine with the amount of installed ram. As you said it my run slow but this just the recommended amount of ram that the manufacturers say it needs to run smoothly.

In 19 years of working on computers I've seen 1 bad Intel CPU and it still worked it just showed the wrong processor speed. I'd eliminate the CPU being the problem. Generally if you have a bare system with motherboard, ram, keyboard and video and they turn on the system is good. The video may cause a crash if it's bad somewhere in the bootup process going into windows but it shouldn't stop the initial bootup process. The area I would likely suspect is the hard drive. If the arm inside the drive that controls the heads is loose it can cause the drive to read sometimes when cool and then to start slipping and not read when the system is warmer. If you can get into the bios there should be someplace there to check your temperatures and voltages. Those might be a suspect area. If the power supply isn't delivering the proper voltages or the CPU is getting hot could cause problems also. I'd like to hear more about what you're seeing on the screen when this system fails to boot. Does is show the ram countup, system devices and hard drives as detected in the bootup process? Or is the screen just blank. When it doesn't boot does the hard drive light blink continuously?

Video controller error messages and wizard popup

you laptop uses an Intel 855GME Video Adapter
you can download the Windows XP Driver FREE here
http://cdgenp01.csd.toshiba.com/content/support/downloads/sm35xinvidx.exe

1. Save the EXE (driver installer) file to a folder on your hard drive (e.g. c:\drivers\)
2. Once the EXE file has finished downloading, run it.

This will configure Windows XP to work with your video controller.

Let me know how it goes.

I have no sound devices in my laptop

hello

Please check whether the sound, video and game controllers listed in the Device Manager.

Click start and select Run. In the Run box type devmgmt.msc and press enter. This will open Device Manage window.

If it is not listed, the I suspect that the issue is with the hardware malfunction. However, you can try to restore the notebook to factory settings. But before restoring the notebook to factory settings, backup your data. Because, it will format your notebook hard drive and erase all data.

Thanks

Video Card Problems

You need to run the recovery and allow Windows Vista to rule the roost. If you do not want to do that then you need to get a different hard drive,(preferrably a new one) And load XP on to it. Your laptop is designed to run Vista and the drive is coded to do so. After so many updates on XP it will pick up on your recovery partition because of SP3 update. No way around it unless you switch drives. I don't think you have permissions to delete the partition with Recovery on it. Get a different hard drive.
