Question about Printers & Copiers

2 Answers

Eventhough we registered our HP Photosmart C7250 we keep getting the prompt to register it. It's difficult to get the prompt to "go away" and it's become very annoying. Please help us solve this issue. Thanks, Sharon

I followed the above instructions and all I could find was:
    hphupd08
    HPBootOp
    HPWuSchd2
    hpqSRMon
    HP Digital Imaging
    HPAioDevice
    Updates from HP

    Do any of these apply?

After attempting to cancel, I will eventually come up with a screen that says something like Remind me 1 day, 3 days, or never and I always select never, but the next day I'll have the same problem all over again.

Hi Sharon,

Pls try going to Start, Run and in the new window type "msconfig" less the quotes. Click on the Starup tab. Pls look for anything referring to HP & registration, uncheck. Click on OK, click on Restart button.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Thank you for using FixYa.

    Hi again Sharon,

Appreciate the update on "msconfig". Actually, you can uncheck all instances of HP. Should any be required, you can always go back and check whichever it is.

On the problem answering "never" but always comes back, are you by chance running any registry lock software such as Ad-Watch. They are designed to just do that, prevent any changes. Temporarily disabling them while answering "never" should do the trick.

    Cheers.

Trash and reinstall the driver for your printer, go to control panel and add and remove program, then uninstall printer and reinstall it after rebooting.

Register HP Photosmart C4480

iris is for the ocr program and not for the printer. registration of the printer is usually done after setup is finished and you see a registration window, if you insist on registering you can reinstall the printer software, but i suggest you don't make efforts to register, you get no benefits from that.

Here's a simple solution. It's easy! Instead of it being the C7280 - it's the C7250 - should be the same driver however. Good Luck!
