GWL15 and it will not finiah rinse cycle. I think this is due to not draining properly. The error code is 37 indicating blocked pump. I did find some blockage and cleaned it up. Still have the issue. In diagnostic mode, I can turn the pump on and it pumps water very fast for about 8 seconds or so and then shuts off. It will not come back on for a couple minutes. Almost as if the pumps overheats and shuts off until it cools down. Is this possible? Does it sounds like a failing pump?

SOURCE: error code 37!!!!!!!!!

I had the same problem. The machine was not draining. I drained the water tipped the machine on its face and exposed the pump. As you face the bottom of the pump there is a plastic lever on the left hand side of the pump. Depress the lever and turn the pump assembly counter clocwise to remove. In my machine I found a piece of a toothpick and a bit of cellophane. Enough to stop the pump impellor. Aside from draining the water it took me an hour to figure this out. Next time it will be 5 minutes!

SOURCE: Code 37 on Fisher & Paykel Washing machine - water does not pump

Four main things are associated with this error: pump system, including the hoses; wiring; motor control module; and diverter valve. See the attached pages for details.

How do you ascertain if its drain pump or faulty controller board causing a fault 37 on a gw612?

Read the answer in the link below first, but in your case it can also be a faulty or blocked diverter valve. If you are good with a multimeter check the resistance of the pump windings. It should read around 33 ohms. It is not uncommon for the pumps to cook themselves and you can smell and see the burned out motor. I hope this is of some help

F & S GWL15 would not drain. Replaced pump & it drained for a while. Removed diverter, found a dime & some lint, cleaned it out and installed it. Still would not drain, water is on floor, do not see leak....

Have you tried reverse flushing the drain hose?
If you can get the outlet/drain hose to the washtub cold tap
wrap a towel around the hose and tap to stop water going everywhere whilst slowly turning up the water pressure
from the tap.
(Any leaks STOP and check your hose clamps/connections are all tight.)
Water should now be flowing into the machine bowl, and
hopefully turned the pump, and cleared any blockages.

Hope it helps

Error code 37.
(00100101) Pump Blocked Error (No change in the water level)
While draining, the water level reading from the pressure sensor has not changed for over 3 minutes. There are three likely reasons for this fault. One is that the drain hose or the pressure switch hose has been squashed or kinked and the pump out rate has been dramatically reduced. The second possibility is that the pump is partially or fully blocked. The third is that the pump is not operating due to Motor Control Module, wiring or pump failure. This fault could also appear if the machine is pumping to an unusually high head of drain hose or into an extended length of drain hose. The fourth possibility is a diverter valve fault or blockage, water level is not altering as the diverter is stuck in the recirculation mode, giving the module the appearance the pump is not lowering the water level.
Primary Source:
Action:1)
Pump System.
Check that the drain hose has not been kinked.
2) Check the length of the drain hose and try to reduce the length if
excessively long. A 39.36in / 1 metre extension hose of the same diameter fitted to the existing drain hose is the maximum allowable length.
3) Check for open circuit windings in the pump. (Note: Pumps are
fitted with a thermal cut-out, which will reset on cooling.)
4) If the basket is empty of water, remove the pump from the pump
housing and check that it is not blocked. Also check the drain hose is not blocked.
5) If the basket contains water, then service the pump from the top of
the machine by removing the top deck and inner basket. Bail out the water, remove the pump cap and hood and clear the restriction.
Secondary Source: Wiring.
Action:
Tertiary Source:
Action:
1) Check the pump harness is connected correctly to the pump. 2) Check continuity of the pump harness.
Motor Control Module module.
Activate the pump by operating the machine in spin mode. Check the pump is rotating. If it is not operating, and Primary and Secondary checks have been performed, then replace the Motor Control Module.

F&P GWL11 Washer Stops at rinse - Error Code 37

I hate to say it but it sounds like the controller. I used to have one that had a similar problem that was fixed with a diverter and a controller. Another year or two later it was doing the same thing, so we just replaced it. Just a warning.

I have a gwl15 Fisher Paykel Smart Drive and it will not get past the rinse cycle, water will not drain out! I found the diagnostic mode sheet and the number I come up with is none of the fault...

Hi - it would seem the washer pump may actually be blocked for some reason... If you had followed the method as per the diagnostics then if you reckon you got 35 then its a communications error beween the console & display. Furthermore you would be able to mannually start the pump in diagnostic mode to see if its working fine.. But under normal cond..... the machine would come up with a pump error & code 37 - so perhaps it is ok.

Remedy - check the harness wire connections between the display & the controller unit is good - clean - otherwise replace the display unit to correct.

On the error codes - there is a Code 35 - just that its not available to the public - it was only ever issued on a DVD sent to the service agents - have never actually seen it on the secure service site.

See how you go....

Hi My F&P washer has been doing a error 51 for a couple of weeks, havent had a chance to get someone to kook at it, I stop it and restart it and it washes all the way through the cycle only did this on...

Error code 37 indicates a blocked or not working drain pump but the slight burning smell likely indicates a burned out drain pump motor. Do not use the machine unless the drain pump problem is addressed as it will result in the damage of the motor controller module. It has been found that electrical problem in the drain pump motor leads to the burning out of the motor controller module.

Error code 51 indicates a blocked or damaged diverter valve. It is where the drain pump and the recirculation pump inlet hoses are attached from. It works in directing (diverting) water to the recirculation pump during the wash stage and to the drain pump during the drain and spin stages. F&P washer lights on and beeps

Clogged pump stopped up drain. If the washer does not think all water was pumped out in 8 minutes then it shuts down. Slow drain is my first inclination.

Needs serves code 37

Hi,

To my knowledge error code 37 indicates fault "pump blocked"

Corrective procedures would require checking the drain pump, drain hose, drain filter. Particular attention must be given to the drain pump impeller as they have been known to stop due to safety pin, plastic and any foreign debris.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Thank you for using FixYa.
