I took the Remote Control Battery out and pressed all the buttons at the Digital EIS Stzbilization Remote Eye and when I put the battery back in remote Control, the only thing that DID work was the Zoom In & Zoom Out.
A Tech at the Panasonic Company Told me to do, and it didn't work. Still Stuck In Pause!!!!

  • tennmommy May 10, 2008

  • tennmommy May 10, 2008

  • tennmommy May 11, 2008

I did the remove battery comment you sent IrishDruid and it had no effect on camcorder. Someone suggested that I Find the Reset on this camcorder and to have a Phillips Screwdriver and have the power ON when I do the Reset. When I tookout the battery, I saw something that might have something to do with resetting this thing. I took off the battery and I see thie:It says EVR with an arrow pointing to a small long box that has a Phillips screwdriver. Could this be the Camcorder Reset in there when I take this off? This is getting on my LAST NERVE !!! tennmommy

  • tennmommy May 12, 2008

Tried that too.Didn't work. there is nothing in my unt that says there is Dew in my unit

  • tennmommy May 15, 2008

Hi Best: I can't open the unit. I wouldn't have a clue as to what to look for. I am going to call the Panasonic Help Line and see if I should send unit to them and if they find the problem, how much would it cost to fix it.I can't afford alot by living on Disability check.

  • tennmommy May 15, 2008

Hi Micro, I don't know how much it would cost to send unit to Stuart,Fl. That is the nearest place to send it to try to find out what is going on. I am going to call the Panasonic Help Line that I have. Maybe they could answer questions or perhaps say the unit is too old to try to fix it. I got this on July 11,1998. Thank You Micro tennmommy

Have you tried pressing the record button on the unit and not the remote to un-pause the function?

Does your unit indicate any Dew in the unit?

Lets try this , check the unit and find something that will say RESET , You gonna need like a jewelry type screwdriver to insert it in , you are gonna do this while the camcorder is on , once you do this , turn camcorder off and on again , hope its fix ,

Try switching the device off, remove battery and/or wall charger and wait for an hour. Put in your battery or wall charger and see if the issue recurrs..
Let me know how it goes..

Cheers!

Remove the battery from the camcorder, not the remote. If you have plugged the camcorder into a wall socket, unplug it from there, wait about 10 minutes and then power on the camcorder again. It should work.

  • Swilin Sampson
    Swilin Sampson May 12, 2008

Well, generally, removing ALL power source to the camera (like battery or adapter, if you've plugged it directly to the wall,) should turn the camera off completely. Once the camera is completely shut down, try powering it on and see if it works.
I dont recommend poking around the EVR thing if you are not sure what you are doing.
The only other suggestion I can give if none of the solutions here seem to work, is to take it to a local electronics/camera store and see if they can sort it for you. I do not think they will charge you for this, unless there is some other internal device that needs fixing..

you took the battery out of the remote but not the device?

Leave it out for 10 min.

  • Benjamin Patri
    Benjamin Patri May 11, 2008

the dew may not be actual due but rather moisture, taking a hair dryer to it at a lower setting may not be a bad thing if it is kept in a humid or damp area

  • Benjamin Patri
    Benjamin Patri May 12, 2008

alright, no dew, the only other option is opening it and checking the internal components

  • Benjamin Patri
    Benjamin Patri May 15, 2008

you will probably be better off getting a new one rather than sending it in. If you know a guy who likes working with electronics, have him check it out but it will be better to buy a new one rather than pay for them to fix it. I'd bet that they will charge you about $50 or even more but you should just find one for under $200 instead. Let me know if you need anything else, thanks.

you can always call and see what they may charge but I wouldn't send it in if I were you.

If its that old, then definitely not worth fixing

How do i unlock the panasonic dvd-s38 to play all region dvds

In addtion to the S68/S38 remote this hack requires a universal remote configured for the S58/S38 with a separate 'Pause' button (or another Panasonic DVD remote with a separate 'Pause' button may work).

Neither the 'Play/Pause' nor 'Frame' buttons on the S58/S38 remote work for this hack.

1. Power on.

2. Open tray.

3. Using the S58/S38 remote press Audio, 1, 9, 8, 2, Subtitle

(it is not required but, if the TV is on, it will display the 'no go' icon after each key press - ignore it).

4. Using the other remote press Pause.

5. Using the S38 remote press 0.

The DVD front panel should now show the text "on".

If so, the DVD is region-free.

My remote volume is "stuck"....if you press up once it keeps going up, same with down

Had the same problem...Panasonic emailed me with a fix. Turn unit off, then press "Play/Pause", "Stop" and the "Power" button ALL AT THE SAME TIME. The unit will start up and it should work fine again. Takes some dexterity to get it right, but it will fix it. Keep this, as it's happened to mine several times. However, Panasonic Support online has a firmware update for download that says it "fixes a remote control issue"....since I downloaded and installed the firmware update, mine hasn't done this again.

Re: Panasonic Remote Control for DMR-ES35V

All you have to do is unplug the power cord from the unit, wait 10 seconds, and plug it back in. The reboot will make your remote work again. Actually, it is the UNIT that is faulty, not your remote.
