Hi Dave,
I have recently had the pleasure of dealing with a couple of these and let me tell ya they can be a problem to trouble shoot. In most cases from my studies of this machine you can have one of two problems. One the blower motor is going bad and it will stop when it gets hot. When the blower motor stops the heat shuts off. Then when the blower motor cools enough it will start back. Unfortunatley it is usually to far through the cycle to still get the cloths dry. Possibility two is the blower motor controller. It is less expensive than the blower motor. I would recommend you replace the controller and see if the problem is solved. If the problem remains you will need the blower motor. I do have both parts on hand and I can give you prices and part numbers. Just send me your model and I will be glad to help.. Thanks and I hope you get back to wearing dry cloths soon.:-P Mike

How to Troubleshoot a Clothes Dryer

<span>Instructions</span> <ol> If the Dryer Won't Start <li>Check the plug and reset the circuit breaker. It could simply mean that there's no power getting to the machine.<br /> </li> <li> Make sure the door is closer and the the latch isn't obstructed by any articles of clothing.<br /> </li> <li> Call a professional if these don't solve the problem. More extreme culprits for a dyer that won't start are a bad door switch, a failed drive belt, a failed motor or a bad thermal fuse (protects the motor).<br /> </li> If the Dryer Dries Slowly <li>Clean the lint filter. Remove the lint and clean it with hot water and a toothbrush. A clogged filter can cause slow drying.<br /> </li> <li> Clean the exhaust duct. Wte 86300US/05 dryer is not drying clothes shows f.03

This code indicates a problem with the dryer's heating system. The code will appear when the heating circuits are broken or when there is an intermittent break in the power source for the dryer. If the heating circuits are working and the power source is steady, you may need to replace the central control board.

KENMORE, Model # 11082834100 stops while drying and gives us an erorr code E1

E1 can indicate a problem in the dryer's thermistor or its wiring circuit. You can see what a popular thermister looks like at this link:

LINK > Whirlpool/Kenmore Dryer Thermister

It should usually measure in the area of 1.5K - 10K ohms but they can be intermittent and test Ok when out of the circuit and only fail during operation making them difficult to pinpoint as the cause of problems. If all the rest checks out, sometimes the thermister just has to be replaced to see if it solves the problem or not if you have any questions message me back Thanks again Rick

Dryer heats to proper drying temperature and then temperature is not maintained and drops off causing long drying time when on timed drying...GE Medallion 850 - bottom heat sensor was cleaned.

you didn't mention if dryer was gas or electric. gas dryer could have bad valve coils which will work for a short time and then fail, cool off and then work again and fail, causing intermittant heat.

Intermittently Drying Problems, Electrical?

It could possibly be electrical, check for 240V at the supply side. The only other possibility could be plugged dryer venting, although it would be unusual for it to cause only intermittent problems. The reason the timer would stop turning (mechanical timer) or counting down (digital display), is because on any Auto-dry, (ones that use the moisture sensor) the dryness of the clothing dictates when the timer should count down or advance. Check for good airflow from the outside exhaust point, if that's ok, I would be possibly looking at the outlet for possible loose contact, look at the dryer cord prongs and see if there are dark marks on them, as this may point to a sloppy outlet causing arcing.

Frigidaire electric dryer catches clothes at the edge of the drum

If the clothes catch on the drum edge the felt seal is worn out , and the squeak could be the bearing the drum rest on or the belt tentioner , it may need oiled , you can buy the felt seal replacement kits online and they are not hard to install.
Hope this helps.
