Brand new washer, E4 Error

Hi, we just purchased a Haier Genesis HLT364XXQ. We get the E4 error all the time. The manual is awful. We don't know what water level we're suppose to put for the loads. But no matter if we set the water level high or very low, the E4 error comes up. Water is entering the machine and both of the hot water and cold water valves are opened all the way. Our previous washer had no problems like this, connected to the same valves. I desperately want to just wash some laundry, can anyone help? My husband has leveled the washer with the "feet" and using a laser level. He's connected and reconnected the hoses to make sure there's no problem. We've tried medium size loads and small loads and various settings. I really don't want to have to try to contact the manufacturer on this.

Thank you for your reply. We've since realized that the water that's pouring into the tub, is not staying, but immediately draining out. We're using the goose neck hose. I contacted customer support and they're suppose to be calling me back when "their systems are back up".

So basically the problem is that the washer won't keep the water in it, the tub won't fill, the water just drains out immediately as it comes in.

Haier sent out a local repairman. He spent maybe 5 minutes looking at the washer. Said that if the drain pump was broken, the water wouldn't be draining at all. He then said it must be the control board, and that that isn't a common replacement. So we're probably looking at about 2 months just waiting for the part to come in. After he left my husband and very confidant that he's right. We're not sure what to do at this point b/c if we wait for the part to come in, it will be past our 30 day threshold of returning it to the store (per their return policy).

Does it sound like he could be correct on the control board?

Thank you for all your help, time and great advice.

OK this should not happen. It might be that the connectors to the watervalve is lose. E4 is a sign that the watervalves are closed. You should contact the store you bought it from and have them give you a replacement. Do not open it for now as it will void your warranty. You know it is not the pressure as the other never had this problem
This however is the link for all the parts you need. or might need.
Have a good one and good luck changing this one out and please dont take no for an answer

ok that can happen in two instances. Either the drain is too low, which i doubt or the drain pump is broken and kees spinning.

Check the drawing. Please let them make it right with you

    Ok try one more thing.

If you use the goose neck. Place a screwdriver of somethng between the hose and the drain pipe so the will be an airgap between the hose and the drain pipe.

Let it fill. sometimes when you connect the drainpipe airtight it creates a sifon system which will drain your machine.

If this doe NOT work please do yourself a favor and return the machine to the store and pick another.

    Kind regards Eric

E4 Overflow

Sometimes during trasport it is possible that styrofoam float mechanicaly activated overflow microswitch. So, you should check complitely overflow system.

At any time, if overflow micro-switch act and keep for longer than 2 seconds, the E4 would occur. When E4 occurs, the drain pump will run until flowmeter keep motionless for 2 minutes (if the model with the pressure switch (83/63),drain pump would run till the pressure switch reset and continue draining for 60 seconds.) and all the other components will be stopped immediately. At the same time, the buzzer will alarm for 30 seconds and error 4 will be shown. Note: Priority level of E4 is the highest. E4 operation is valid after other error operations have done. When E4 operation has done, all the others are invalid.

Haier HLP23E - When I press start, the water flows in and out at the same time.

Hi Lina, accordin to the Haier website, E4 stands for "water inlet problem. Water can not inlet or cannot reach the selected level in a proper time.". Unless the ingoing water pressure is really low, I think you need to service the machine. Anyway, hope this helps!

Keep getting a E4 Code

This E4 Phenomena means "no water":
No or slow water fill (not
reaching the full level in 15 min),
therby computer sends display message "E4"
1) The house water tap is not open, or
2) This is the most common E4 reason- The water inlet valve (that the hose is connected to) is blocked.
3) The water pressure is too low and the flow is too weak.
1) Open the water tap, then push the START/PAUSE button again.
2) Clean the water inlet valve. Shut off house water supply on the wall then, unscrew (lefty loosy) each hose from the house and the machine and look for a screen and clean the junk away from the screens. You may have 1 or 2 screens depending on the hose there may be 1 screen where the hose connects to the house and another screen inside the machine valve. Then, return hoses and turn on the water pressure again, Then push the START/PAUSE button again.
3) Wait for the normal water pressure to return to the house before use.

I have e4 showing

E4 error indicate an abnormal water level which means too much inlet water (E5 also is refer at this fault).

I quote other comments/solution about this same error:
I had the e4 error code and i took the outer panel off and inside behind the power button is a grey reservoir tank which measures the water that goes inside the dishwasher which actually got bunged up with **** and grease causing the floaty thing to get jammed and cause the e4 code to come on which means abnormal water level the top to the reservoir just unclips on both sides then just clean all the gooey stuff out and put it back together it worked for me.

Good luck.

E4 is an error code indicating a problem with the water inlet valve or the electronics that control the inlet valve. Error codes do not necessarily indicate the problem directly.

Here is the service manual (with diagnostic procedures) for your machine:

Good luck.

My Kenwood Dishwasher shows an E4 error code

Howdy:) An E4 or E5 error indicate an abnormal water level which means too much inlet water. Here is the shortcut to the Kenwood PDF file with the user's manuals.

You can cut and paste it into your browser's address window. Your model was not indicated in your message, but the error codes are standard throughout the Kenwood models. I hope you find this useful:)

On my Haier HWD1000, I keep getting error message E11... what does this mean?

Error E11 means either:

The water level can not
reach the reset water level
within 5 minutes

The water level can not
reach the setting water level
within 8 minutes

What this means is check your water supply for sufficient pressure and if for some reason it stops and starts (eg. well drawn water with a small reservoir sometimes.)

You may have to make sure that there are no other water uses going on at the same time.
