[email protected] have water on the floor in front of the dishwasher. I have looked under neath it and can't find a water trail or leaking fitting. I am guessing at the door gasket, is this hard to replace? I can find a little water trail on the right side coming down at the front leg, am I on the right track?

Dishwasher Not Leveled

This is a very common reason for a leaking dishwasher especially if this was a new installation. The framing in a dishwasher is made up of mostly thin sheet metal, so if it is not sitting flat and level things can get distorted very easily.

Door Seal

This is not very common in most dishwashers. To check this look for rips and distortion of the seal. If it is ripped or distorted you will need to replace.

Dispenser Seal

This is a more common place for a leak to develop. This is easy to check, remove the front panel and carefully inspect around the seal for water dripping or stainage. If any is found replace the dispenser gasket.

Water Inlet Valve

Usually it is the connection to the water inlet valve that ends up leaking. Check this connection ( there is usually some sort of adaptor between the valve and supply hose) for leaks. Check the connection on the back of the water inlet valve also. Ocassionaly a water inlet valve will leak around the solenoid in this case replace water inlet valve.

Drain / Circulating Pump

Some dishwashers have separate drain and circulating pumps Some use one pump to serve both purposes. In either case you will need to check the housings for leaks along with all the connections. Some dishwashers have a seal that leaks down into the pump . This is easy and inexpensive to replace. Follow the tutorial on replacing the pump

Door Latch

The door latch can become loose or misalinged. Check both the striker and the latch. To adjust the latch you will need to remove the front panel and adjust the switch until properly aligned.

Door Hinges

They can cause problems, but this usually only happens from opening a heavy load of dishes on the door. Occassionaly a broken spring or cable occurs. You will need to remove the toe kick and maybe the front panel to inspect.

Check the front corner of the intake gasket. Very common problem

Usually any defrost water sits in a plastic pan and evaporates away in normal operation. If the pan becomes brittle it cracks and leaks water. Pull the fridge out and look on top of the black pot (compressor) Is there a plastic drain pan sat on top of it?
Sometimes if the fridge is working hard a lump of ice can form on the pipework going back to the compressor which melts causing some water at the front of the fridge.
Lastly, the insulation under the fridge may have broken down, allowing condensation to form and drip. If the drain was blocked, the water would be inside the fridge, not underneath.

TAKE A SHOP VAC AND SMALL VACUUM LINE HOSE ABOUT 3/8 SIZE VACUUM IN THE DRAIN HOLE THAT WILL REMOVE DEBRIS THAT BLOCKING OFF DRAIN HOLE WHICH KEEP EVAPORATOR WATER LEAKING INSIDE CAR.

clogged drain causing the water that cant reach the drain pan underneath to leak on the floor. Unplug fridge and open doors for 24 to melt ice likely clogging up drain. If that doesnt fix, you'll need to call refrigerator repair service

hello Adrian. I am suspicious that the standing drain pipe behind your machine may sometimes over flow. To find out, pack some dry newspaper around the drain hose where it enters the drain line behind the machine. If that newspaper gets wet you will know that the drain is sometimes overflowing. If that is the case, snake that drain or force a garden hose down it and run hot water thru it for ten minutes. J.

check the water to the unit it is locate under the door open the panel 2 -4 screw take flash light turn the unit on and see where the water come from ... it might be also from under your sink.

Some leaking around-under-from the door on dishwashers can be traced back to a split in the spray arm. If the lower spray arm develops a split in it, the spray arm can turn too fast, and shoot water directly at things that it is not suppose to spray water at....sprays water at the door vents or edges and can create water leaks.

I may not have the full solution here, but to avoid (expensive) sub-floor damage, I recommend you do the following.  Assuming that the water is not coming from some dripping between the opened door at the hinge....
-Remove the kick plate that is in the bottom, front of the dishwasher.
Use a flashlight to look for wet flooring.  Run the dishwasher with the kick plate removed, watching for leaks/dripping.  It is possible for a leak to seep under the floor.  If leaking is found, do not ignore it.  Pull the dishwasher, fix the leak or replace the dishwasher.  Remove the first layer of sub-floor under the dishwasher, looking for deeper damage.
You should probably do the same with the carpeted area.  Pull the carpet back and decide if the sub-floor needs to be replaced.  A flooring expert should probably inspect.
Sorry to be such an alarmist, but I have been around floor damage that was unnoticed and ignored.
