Check the filter and the hoses for blockages and clogging. If you can, **** backwards through the pipes to dislodge any foreign stuff stuck in them. See it there is suction when the hoses are removed, this will tell you if the hose is blocked. Also check the attachments you are using in case they are blocked. Using a vacuum that is not sucking means that there is no cooling air going over the motor and it will overheat.
The best thing to do to both, keep your Majestic suction and air flow strongest, and keep from pulling dirt & dust from being pulled past the filters which can cause damage to the motor, and charcoal filter, replace the filter once a month. If you use it longer than that it will both loose suction and will cause your Medipure or Enviropure "charcoal" filters to wear out prematurely. Mark the change date right on the filter or on your calendar to help keep track.
start by checking the filters on the unit. The filter cone and the little disk filter just above the cone are the perfect place to start. Next see if there is something in the hose that may be blocking it. On this machine you can reverse **** the hose back into the canister.
look down the metal pipes for anything blocking the airflow there as well.
IF all of that is clear, and no blockage in the piping, then you may need to replace the belt on the power head. A lot of times this will stretch and not allow the unit to pick up properly.
This may be a little newer model, however this instructions and use of this machine will be identical to the one that you have. They really have changed anything on their machines other then the looks of them for a decades.
