I have been washing well for ages and now there is too many suds in the bowl and it is not spinning the clothes properly. I have tried the clean me function and re rising. Is there a way of draining the water froom the bottom of the machine to get rid of the excess suds and water?

What is fault 40

Fault code 40 info
40. (00101000) Bowl Dis-engage Fault
While carrying out a bowl check, the Motor Control Module has found that the bowl is not
engaged even though the pressure sensor indicates that the bowl is empty. The Motor
Control Module continues to check for 2 minutes, after which time it displays this fault. The
first two areas to check are the clutch and the pressure tube. If these two appear correct,
then the fault could be in the pressure sensor in the Motor Control Module.
Primary Source: Mechanical.
Action: 1) Check that there are no clothes or other foreign objects preventing
the clutch from re-engaging. Excessive suds can stop the bowl
rotating.
2) If the machine is empty of water, carry out a clutch disassembly
procedure and check the spline drive.
3) Next check that the pressure tube has not come off and that it is
not kinked.
Secondary Source: Motor Control Module.
Action: Replace Motor Control Module.

My front load washer won't spin fast anymore, any solutions out there?

A leading cause of clothing coming out very wet(not spinning on high speed) is over sudding (too much detergent being used) to see if that is the case start the washer without clothes and see if there is build up of suds (there should be NONE) to clean over sudding run a cold water wash and add a cup of white vinagar that will clean the build up of suds

GE Front Loading Washing Machine seems to be holding water....

The high speed spin of a front load washer should normally do a good job of getting squeezing out the water but if there is an oversudsing condition that makes it hard for the drain pump to operate then the suds and water will just stay there. First make sure there is no actual clog in the drain line then run a load with no soap or detergent and see what happens. It's always better to use a low suds detergent with this type of machine
