Re: ASPIRE ACER 9410Z...sound wont work
Maybe it's something to do with the drivers. You can try and perform a reinstall by going to start ---- programs --- acer recovery manager ----- click restore at the bottom and reinstall teh drivers from there.

test it in safe mode. if it works, do a restore to a previous working date or last known-good configuration. if you cannot get to the Windows log in at all, reinstall your OS. if nothing shows up on the screen from the time you power it on, test an external display and if it does not work, sounds like your video card is faulty and needs a replacement
Does the laptop play CDs?
If so then when you start a DVD and before you play the movie, go into the audio setting and configure the speakers for laptop stereo speakers.
If you cannot hear music from the CD then check :-
1. The audio settings, volume not set to minimum and mute is not ticked (enabled)
2. Device manager - sound device is enabled and working, if not re-install the sound driver.
Have you tried removing the app using the control panel? Download, and
reinstall. If that doesn't work it's possible you've got something else
installed that's conflicting with those services. The first thing you
could try is a system restore if it only started failing recently.
First: Check if the device is installed and working properly - My Computer-(right click)-Manage-Device Manager - be sure there is nothing wrong in "Sound, video and Game Controllers" section. If there is something wrong, you will see it immediately, then fix it. If in that section all is OK, then 1) go to Acer FTP site and get Realtek driver there (ftp://ftp.work.acer-euro.com/netbook/aspire_one_150/driver/Audio_Realtek_v.188.8.131.5272.zip). 2) Uninstall running Realtek driver using Control Panel and reboot. 3) When XP after reboot will ask for driver installation, just cancel this and install Realtek driver downloaded. 4) Check with Skype your voice recording and enjoy. All this is valid if you do not have your microphone physically broken. Tested by myself - I had the same situation.
And did you contact Acer? the gadgets can be updated at Acer.com, there are new versions of almost everything there. I think the Window wants you to register it again. I'm kinda PO'd because the Z issupposed to have Bluetooth but I can't get it to see a bluetooth device anywhere.
