Hi, I have a Nikon S3000. I'm having problems viewing some of the photos on the camera. Some will uplaod to my PC but only show half the photo, the other half is grey. Other photos are totally blank and say ' file contains no image data'. After taking the photos, I checked they came out and all photos were there, so I don't understand where they've gone. Any guideance would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance. Emma Powell

Nikon coolpix S3000 problem

Consider NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use Nikon Transfer or any other photo cataloging program.

Pics gone in DCIM folder. Using a Nikon s3000 coolpix camera, connected to computer, F:\s3000 is detected, within it is DCIM folder present, and within DCIM folder presents Nikon100 and Nikon101 folders,...

You cannot create new folders on an SD card and copy images to them, as the camera will not recognise them, since they were not create in the camera. Copy the entire contents of the card to a folder on your HDD, then format the card in the camera.

Hello. I want to purchase a nikon coolpix S3000 model camera but my friends told me that this model of nikon has lens problem..so i want to confirm this. plz help me..thank u

I work at an authorized Nikon service center and I don't see many S3000 models coming in for repairs. Most camera point and shoot models that have an extending lens are subject to lens errors. Most of those errors are also a result of shock or impact and not manufacturer's defect. Hope this helps!

I have a brand new Nikon coolpix s3000. This is my first time attempting to uplaod the pictures to my computer. My camera has been saying that the battery is exhausted all day, so i figured if i plugged it...

Your camera came with a separate battery charger, didn't it? Plugging a camera with a dead battery into a computer won't get you very far. Charge the battery first.
