Usually this is a problem within the convergence circuit. In all probability with a set under warranty, the entire board will be replaced or the whole set will be replaced. The only repair "delay" should be the time to get the replacement board. If hte set is within 60 days of purchase, I would request immediate replacement at the place of purchase.

Magnet came in contact blue green and red color

Every time you turn on a color TV, a degaussing circuit tries to neutralize magnetic fields on the picture tube face that can cause distorted colors. That degaussing circuit isn't strong enough to clear up the field left by direct contact with a magnet. You need an external degaussing ring to clear up the funny colors. You can see what one looks like here. You might be able to find one for sale on eBay or borrow one from someone in the TV service business. Or you can take the TV to a shop where they can degauss it for you for a small charge. Just be aware there's a chance the picture tube may have been damaged if the magnet was very strong and was in contact with the tube for any length of time. A thin metal screen called the shadow mask is behind the tube face, and if that was warped by the magnet then the colors will never line up correctly again. If this has happened, even after degaussing the colors will still be wrong. But you won't know until you try. Good luck, and thanks for using Fixya!

When i turn on my tv, the screen has like rainbow color all over it. i found out if you hold a magnet up to the screen, the color moves if you move the magnet. no picture of anything,,just color i...

To fix this, you need to do something called degaussing. You should keep magnets away from the screen in the future, because they cause this problem.
The first thing to try is to turn it on and off, making sure that all magnets and speakers (which have magnets in them) are kept far away from it. This will activate the monitor's auto-degausser if it has one. If this does not help, this guide: http://www.wikihow.com/Degauss-a-Computer-Monitor gives a couple solutions, including using a soldering gun (not a soldering iron), illustrated in the video below:
With a powerdrill:

Or investing about 60 bucks in a degaussing coil like this which is a guaranteed fix:
One other trick that might work is to take an old CRT monitor ("fat-screen" rather than "flat-screen"), hold it up to the tv screen to screen, and turn it on and off to have the monitor use its own degausser. The monitor may have a button to activate degaussing, or it may be in the menu you can bring up with the buttons on the bottom of the screen.
If you don't want to deal with any of this, a tv repair shop will degauss your tv for you quickly.

Both the the left and right have large color blobs, more intence at times, shows more on blk/white

There is a degaussing resistor that activates when tv is first turned on and purifies the screen so there is no color contamination, sometimes it will become defective or develope bad connections on the circuit board. The part looks like a box "black/green" and is located near the power cord. If it has stopped working it would explain the color blotches. To fix it! the part needs to be replaced or resolded back on the board and a degaussing coil used to give it the once over, tv tech carries one just for that purpose. The other possibility is if speakers are to close to the viewing screen the magnet will leave blotches and must be degaussed to correct it.

CRT TV Screen Colors Off

The tv needs degaussing (demagnetizing) unplugg the set tonight and then plug it and turn it on in the morning. You should hear a a "bonk" noise when the set is first turned on after being cold- this is the internal degausse circuit working and it should fix your problem if you don't hear the "bonk" sound or it does not fix your problem call arepair shop to have the degausse your set and possibly fix the internal degausse circuit.

Its magnetic effect on picture tube. Power Off TV for 20-30 minutes then turn it On, hope problem will be resolved. Please also check and remove any speaker or some thing have magnet near by TV.
If color spots are still there, picture tube need to degaussed / demagnetized.

Color problem with the samsung 46" PCK520R TV

There are a few possible causes for this

-Picture tube has become weak after long useage
-A fault with the automatic degauss circuit could be causing the color problems.
-The color drive circuits may be out of adjustment.

I don't have instructions for you on how to fix this, I would recommend you either buy premium assistance or contact
another expert with long tv experience to possibly get details
on how to correct this problem.

I would recommend you contact your dealer for repairs if you have warranty. If you don't have warranty it may be cheaper to ask around.

Color rainbow in picture

Your problem sounds like someone got a magnet too close to the CRT. This can be removed with a degauss coil (which you probably do not have) or it will eventually go away if your built in degauss circuit is working. Everytime you turn on the set the circuit degausses the crt so colors can be displayed properly. If the circuit is not working you will need to have a tech repair it.
