Sound goes in and out while player DVD

I have an 9 month old RCA model 20F514TD with a built in DVD player. When playing a DVD the sound goes in and out every 10 seconds or so. When the sound goes out it's only for 1 second but it does it every 10 seconds.

When playing a dvd there is no sound and everything else works fine. The tv sound works fine. Could the dvd player be bad?

This unit should be under warranty. Try to keep track of when this problem occurs so that you can report it to the service center when you bring the set for repair. Indicate that the problem is intermittant if you can not readily reproduce the problem. That should cover you should the problem disappear until after the warranty period is over.

You need an RF modulator and the proper cable(s) so that the DVD player can connect to the old TV coax input. See this video for the procedure.

RCA 20F514TD has lost horizontal hold. How can I adjust this? I have found no button or menu option discussed in the manual or by searching.

Horizontal rolling is the fault to your TV I assumes. It is a circuit fault. It can't be adjusted by customer controls. Contact any experienced service technician.

You should just have to put the DVD in the player and then switch to the input either from the T.V. or the remote and click play.

I have an RCA tv 21in truflat model number 20f514td. It's about 2 years old. About a month ago it started randomly turning itself on and off. It stopped for awhile then started up again, and now won't stay...

RCA is notorious for bad solder joints. If you are able, pull the back off, remove the main PCB from the bracket and flip it over. (ps: sorry, Unplug the TV!) Inspect as much of the solder connections as you can, reflow any cold, thin, or cracked looking joints you find. Many RCA TVs have been repaired by just this simple method. If you are not able or confident enough to do this, contact a local repair shop for service.

Tv part

In the user book, there should normaly be a list of local service reps. I am sure you can Google for RCA service parts. They can supply the parts for their TV sets if the set is not obsolete. You will find it much cheaper to buy a new set rather than buy complete populated main circuit board.

No Picture on TV

? What is the model # off the back ?

Does the video work on the RF coax cable input?

For instance,as a test, can you hook-up from VCR coax RF out

to TV coax in,put the TV on Chan. 3,play a tape and get audio and video?

Are you matching colors when trying the A/V inputs?Yellow, red,

and white out of DVD to yellow, red and white in on back of TV?

Then select video input on tv===dial "00" or use input button on

original RCA remote. Are you using original RCA remote that

came w/TV ? Do you have the owner/operator manual for the TV?

Sorry to ask so many  ?????   Let me know how it goes!!  T.
