I don't recommend the taking a lcd apart unless you have had some time in a shop doing it. replacement of the lcd unit is much preferred and easy E bay may have what you need just take the model and manufacturer and do a search, that way you can just replace the lcd unit and I feel confident that will work

open the remote and clean the keypads with contacts cleaner or ethylic alcohol to 75% , for dirty, humidity, corrosion, oxide, bad contacts.
1a) clean the contacts batteries and retigh the spring for better contacts
2) reset the code
3) try again.
4) if the problem persist go to the repair shop for fix it.
God bless you

I have a deep scratch on my Sony Bravia LCD screen Vaseline, the drimel and rubbing compound did not work. Can you help?

If you can catch your fingernail in the scratch, it's probably too deep to polish it out. Check out this general page on removing scratches from glass.

Caution: make sure no liquid runs down to the edge of the display and gets behind the bezel. It could do nasty things to any circuitry (control buttons, etc.) there. The page referenced above suggests using ammonia/water solution to clean off the polish. Most LCD product manuals specifically warn against using ammonia-based cleaners. Use a commercial LCD cleaner instead.

Be gentle - excessive pressure could displace the liquid crystal material and leave dead pixels or "white bruise" spots on the display.

If the polished area has poor contrast afterwards, you may need to replace the polarizing film on the front of the display. This normally should be done in a "clean room" environment with special air filtration systems to ensure no dust is trapped behind the film, so it is not a do-it-yourself job, and it isn't cheap. Check out the details here.

I have a sanyo LCD 46 inch tv the model number is DP42848 and the left side of the screen is black when it is on. Even when left on for a while it does not clear up. we are still able to see what is behind...

It could be the video processor board (T-connector board) or its ribbon cables. This board has two ribbon cable that supply each of the two circuit boards for the LCD glass. One for the left and one for the right. If one of these cables has become disconnected, then only one half of the screen will work. To check the cables, you must remove the back of the TV. The video processor board is under a metal cover. Remove the 4 screws to expose the board. Check the one input and two output cables to be sure they are properly seated. If one side of the screen remains dark, the problem may be in the video processor board itself. You can probably get one on ebay. Otherwise the problem will be in the LCD glass circuits and it can not be fixed.

Constant beep even while driving and when i turn it off it still beeps unless i disconect the interior lighting fuse and plug it back in fuse # 8 i believe. if i leave the fuse out it makes a wierd sound...

1995 GrCher Orvis - I have now just started with the same problem. An incessent loud high pitched alarm sound. Identical fuse, ignition on/off, and ticking issues. Can start jeep, warning sounds as normal followed by incessent tone, I can remove fuse to get quiet, but then when I close the door I get the identical alarm sound, but with a slight pause. Tone. Tone, Tone, etc. I can't figure. Tore through all components of dash: to learn that the alarm seems to emminate from the transmission floor area, and is not in the instrument panel (f up #1) nor is it behind the dashboard (f up #2). I'm stuck now... Anybody got something for me? Is it a transmission warning?

LOOKS LIKE SCATCHES BUT THE SCREEN ISN'T SCRATCHED AND BLOOBS OF LIQUID ON THE INNER SCREEN. A LINE DOWN THE CENTER OF THE SCREEN TOO

Hello,

That really sounds like the LCD screen is cracked. The front will not feel cracked because of a clear plastic cover sheet but behind it is the LCD panel. The liquid you see is part of the screen leaking. The LCD actually means "liquid crystal display" and that is what you are seeing leak out between the cracks in the panel. You will need to have the panel replaced to clear the problem. You can get the panels from Ebay if you want to do the repair yourself. This type of repair is not covered under the Acer warranty. Liquid in Main LCD Screen

Not a lot you can do for this problem, you could try taking all the removal bits off the phone, and drying them with a hair dryer on
low heat.
The chances are something will be fused in the phone.
AC/DC power and water don't go together.
Sorry I just noticed the date. A bit late, but you can change the LCD. It's easy to do and cheap to buy.

Screen displays vertical, but I need to rotate it back to horizontal

Helop, If your screen image is rotated to the rotated to the right or left and you?re asking how to get it back to normal it depends on your system. For Windows while holding the Ctrl and Alt keys down press the up arrow button. If that doesn?t work then your video card driver probably has a component that controls this function. Let us know what your video card make and model is and what software driver for it you have installed and we?ll try to help figure it out. If I?ve misunderstood your question please elaborate.

LCD is showing wierd colours and patterns

Sounds like you have damaged the LCD. The LCD is made of 2 sheets of glass and then there is a liquid between the sheets that carry light. Sometimes the glass can crack and the liquid will leak or bleed and then the unit needs a replacement LCD. An impact can crack the glass, dropping it or freezing the unit. A damaged LCD is common because they are so small and thin you cant push on them. A used LCD runs about $40. labor may be a bit more if this is the problem. People buy broken cameras on e-bay it maybe cheaper to get a different unit. If its under warantee you may be able to sxchange it. On the bottom of your camera there is an A/V port you can hook the unit to a tv. To verify the screen is damaged hook it to a tv and see if you can see an image on the tv in record or review mode and see if the LCD and the tv view are the same. You could still use it if the LCD is damaged but you will need another way to view the menu. I have done this
