This unit has hardly been used and has only been used as a dvd player to play a couple of dvd movies. my friend wants to sell the whole system but it still has problems. i stuck a dvd movie in, and after 45 min, it just powered off. the display screen went black. the red power light is still on. if i click the power button on the remote or push the eject button on the unit, it flashes dvd in the display screen for a couple seconds then clicks off again. i unplugged it and let it alone overnight. I still can't get it to come on and stay on. I want my disk out and this thing fixed. any suggestions? btw, it's my netflix movie in there. i want it out cuz i can't get anymore movies til i send it back. LOL
One of the motors in the mechanism died making a near short circuit. When the DVD tries to energize the motor, a lot of current passes through the circuits making the PSU protection to shut down the power supply to avoid damage or fire. To get the movie out, you'll have to disassemble the DVD player and remove the disk. After that the DVD will be unusable because of the failing motor. The replacement often is more expensive than buying a new Chinese DVD player.

when you play nothing but bootlegs in a dvd player, they tend to burn out the eye inside the player to where it will only read bootlegs. the original movies capabilities won't work anymore. hope this is a help to you my friend.
Hello; There are many laws and rules controlling what you can watch on all DVD players, built into a TV or separate player. If you go buy an MGM or other dvd of some movie at Walmart , Best Buy ETC it should play in your DVD player, But if You or somebody " Burned a DVD" , It Likely won't play. If The DVD is an original store copy and still won't play, the DVD chassis must be replaced. BIG BUCKS. Just buy a Cheap DVD player and plug into the jacks on the back of the TV and save a TON of money. John
Well, if your talking abou pirated dvd's, check your software. But I hope you know that dvd players now in days are coming with some kind of pirated dvd protection. Meaning, that the dvd player companies are making it harder for some of us to pirate dvd's that actually work on most dvd players. What software are you using? I'm not going to say what I use cause then I'll be an accomplice. Butmaybe that is the problem, the software is burning with a trace of itself. Or what you can do is go over a friends house and try them out. I know, cause my dvd player stops the dvd every 10 seconds. And my friends dvd player would just play it normally. It's a pain dude, all I can say is do it wright and stay legal. Or just don't get caught!!!
Anyways, hope this helps.
Maybe it's your dvd player that won't read the disks cause they are not original or propper format. Just to make that clear.
the best format to buy is the DVD-R but make sure your disc has been finalised if you reinsert your disc on the functions screen you should see finalise this is essential for compatible playback hope this helps regards Jim
What program are you trying to use to play these movies? Windows Media Player will play some, but not others - I highly recommend Nero, WinDVD, PowerDVD or similar programs.
Question - are you able to browse the contents of the DVD drive in My Computer? Even if the movie doesn't play, you can still see the files (there will be an AUDIO_TS and a VIDEO_TS folder, which a bunch of VOB files under the latter).
If you can see the files, but movies won't play, you just need the appropriate DVD playback software.
Try playing Different DVDs, Second Make sure which Region Disk your playing is it Region 1 or Region 2, If your DVD player is Manufactured in USA it plays only Region 1, If its manufactured in UK it plays only Region 2, If still you face same problem Use Lens Cleaner, If still you face same problem do Reset. To Reset Dvd player, Remove DVD from Dvd Player, Unplug Power chord from Walloulet for 15minutes so player goes to Defult Factor Settings, Then plug back again Power chord. Turn on Dvd player insert DVD, It should Play or else Claim Warranty.
