Actually i want to use mine mobile as a microphone.. can i actually do it. i think we can use inbuilt voice recorder to directly save voice being recorded on laptop and play directly using laptop speakers. i think we can do this by changing the place where recorder is saving the file in computers memory rather than saving on mobiles flash memory

Please answer the following questions. 1. Is it an inbuilt microphone or an external microphone? 2. What software are you using to do the recording? 3. What Operating system do you have on your computer? 4. Are you using a laptop or a desktop? 5. Have u used your microphone for some other operation for example using it during a voice chat?
If its just to record anything. You can click on start and go to all programs, under all programs you will find accessories where you would have the sound recorder which you can use to record your own voice.
If you want to use it for chat, you can use any third party softwares like skype of yahoo messenger.
Since its an inbuilt Microphone, You dont have to turn it on manually.
Sounds like a internal microphone issue in this case you will need a camera shop to have a look locally, But if your sure all the settings are correct nothing is muted then the problem is the internal microphone assembly inside. Let me know ether way.
just buy one of those cheap microphones for your laptop from pound store plug it into pc then right click on the sound icon on your desktop select properties in there you will find an option for recording there is also a wizard to help you set it up hope this helps
have a Dell 1545 with Dell web cam central & I've had this issue.
The problem is that Dell web cam central installs it's own microphone
settings onto your laptop called something like Dell web cam Live!. This
isn't the built in microphone in my laptop & maybe not yours
either. You have to change the settings for your computer system &
Dell web cam central. Go to start> control panel> sound>
recording .. on mine there is an option for Microphone "High Definition
Audio Device" ... that is the built in mic. You want that for your
default & apply it. Also .. as a side note .. I disabled the web cam central Live! microphone completely from this window. Then open Dell web cam central & go to the
"Record Video's" option. In the middle of this is an orange button with a
video camera icon. Next to this on the same button is a little arrow
pointing down .. click that. Under microphone .. choose Microphone "High
Definition Audio Device" just like the sound option in control panel.
I've done this & it's completely fixed. I can record videos with
sound & use my built in mic in voice/video chat.
