Question about PC Desktops

2 Answers

My monitor 'popped' a while ago so i sent it back to the manufactorers to get it fixed they sent it back to me within 2 weeks, its come back and ever since its came back the monitor decides to turn itself off, the light at the side stays green but the actual screen itself goes off so i turn it off from the side and turn it back on and it cums on but only for a ridicolously short amount of time, ive noticed if i leave the monitor off for a while it tends to stay on a little longer (a couple of minutes) before it goes out again! its been doing this for ages and its proper doing my head in haha! Help please

Well...sounds like if it's under warranty, they owe you a new device

My compaq monitor for my desktop turn on switch pops on and straight off need to replace switch

Hello,

This can be fixed. You have to open the monitor and reset the power switch so that it will press the power button within the monitor. BE CAREFULL!!!!!! Monitors can retain a nasty power shook even with the power cord unplugged. DO NOT TOUCH COILS OR WIREING DIRECTLY ATTACHED TO THE SCREEN BEFORE DEGAUSING THE MONITOR.

The monitor has nothing to do with this problem, it's a video driver corruption in the computer.
Go into Programs and uninstall software from NVidia, the driver the last. Reboot and then go here and download a new driver select the correct one for your video card.

Once the download has ended launch the installer.

Have HP slimline series. Came back from a break.

Try another monitor on it to verify it is the video card that has gone bad. If it does not work with another monitor then that is the likely culprit.

Wondering if you resolved it and how I was having the same issue have taken my screen apart and it is not the button pressing seems to be a deeper routed issue. I have tried driver re-install, change of start up and various other items none are resolving it. I think it maybe a issue directly related to the manufactoring of the E181H Monitor.

when you tried it in your laptop.. did you use the function keys to try to get image on your monitor?
check your laptop documentation it shoud tell you how you can get the image in another monitor or get to show on both, your laptop lcd screen and your monitor or on only on your monitor. if you did try that as per your laptop documentation... you may want to read up on your monitors warranty.. you're within the year so should be ok.. get the receipts of your purchase ready.

PC or monitor, signal problems

your monitor is telling you it's on it's last legs..either that or your compaq has a bad video section. either is more vital than a video cable being loose.
