HDB24EA is leaking from the bottom

If a dishwasher is leaking onto the floor you either have a loose connection--supply or drain, or the pump seal is bad. The connection leaks are easy to fix-just tighten. If you ahve a bad pump seal you're going to have to spend money. Usually about $60 for a seal kit if you do it yourself or a LOT of money if you have repairman do it. If this is an older machine and the seal is gone you might want to toss it.

These are cheesy, inexpensive dishwashers that are prone to leaky pumps, as shown here (click the pic for the larger, annotated view).

The problem is usually a leaky shaft seal kit, shown here as Items 7 and 8 (click the pic for the larger, annotated view).

Fortunately, the shaft seal kit is inexpensive; but it can be a ****** to install, depending on how much rust you’re dealing with. May require a destructive removal of the impeller, too, but ain’t no thang ‘cuz the shaft seal kit comes with a new impeller. Here’s a nice, purdy picture of a brand new shaft seal kit. And just to help motivate you a little more, the money you save from replacing just the shaft seal vs. replacing the entire motor-pump assembly is well over a Benjamin. So you go ahead and drill, cut, and chisel all you want on that old impeller!

I have a LX40 and need parts list . I have a valve or solinoid that is leaking on upper back of machine

i have an lx 30
i think its called a breaker fill valve
hobart sells a rebuild kit thats pretty easy
1str unscrew 2 screws that hold cap on and save
with pair of plyers or channel locks unscrew top where 2 screws were screwed into, counterclockwise,
should be a plastic plunger, with rubber seal, rermove and replace with new one from kit, use grease to grease shaft
re enstal.
make sure you have kit before you attempt this.
if you have hard water deposits, clean those areas best you can,on top nut, also if your lx has a booster heater, hard water will cause havic and expensive repairs, a water softner from the yellow pages , will be your lx s best friend, and their not expensive

Water won't pump

yes,,, it is the water fill valve,, when it started to go bad the noises where from the pump, then it got quite now it is gone,, make sure you turn off the water supply before removing the unit,, only reason I am saying this is that I have even seen plumbers not turn off the water supply because they don't have hater goning thru and forget that why they are taking it out lol

Unit not pumping on wash cycle

Could be bad main wash pump motor, bad capacitor on said motor, or broken or jamed pump impeller. You will need to remove the lower spray arm and filter assembly to get access to the pump impeller to see if it is jammed or broken. If you can turn the motor shaft but the motor just hums then the motor of motor start capacitor is gone. You can order the motor with start capacitor and impeller for around $130. Check for 120v at the motor terminals prior to replacing motor/pump assembly to confirm, 120v at motor would but motor not turning equals bad motor and or capacitor.

Dishwasher fills w/ water, does not wash, but does drain.

Joel, it's hard to tell whats going on here without the full model number. The number you posted should start with a 665, 363,587 or 464.  Here is a couple of things to look for.  It sounds like you have a seperate drain pump. Remove the bottom toe panel and hopefully there will be a tech sheet behind it.  Check the harness to the motor itself.  You want to verify that there is 120V going to it when the wash motor should be running. If you hear the motor humming and kicking out on the overload, then we can assume you have something stuck in the impeller or the motor is bad itself. The tech sheet will give you a diagram for the hot and nuetral.  Check the float switch inside the tub, it should move freely up and down. This is a safety device to insure the dishwasher does not overfill.  If this is a 665,  there will be a start capacitor on the left side of the wash motor.  If one of the wires came off the cap,  the motor won't run.  Regarding the door switches,  if you have 120V going to the motor during the wash cycle, you can assume the door switches are o.k.   Hope this gets you started in the right direction...Catriver.
