Go into your Setup menu and scroll down to bluetooth settings.
From here you should see a screen that says "HFP connect device", "A2DP connect device" and "Receiver pin code".
Press the "Set" button to the right side of "A2DP" and it should bring you to another screen that says Pair device.
Go onto your phone settings and make sure you have your bluetooth setting on your phone set to "make discoverable"
Press the search button on the Kenwood unit on the right side and it will start scanning for available devices in the vicinity
Also press the Search button on your phone so it also starts scanning.
Next you should get a message on both your phone that shows the Kvt-514 and also a message on the Kenwood that shows either the model of your phone or your "nickname" (if you named your phone)
Select the Kvt-514 on your phone and it will prompt you for the pin code that was on the first bluetooth setup screen...most likely 1111 (you can also set a different pin code using the "set" button to the right side of the "Receiver Pin Code" on the first bluetooth setup screen)
Enter the Pin code and select "Pair" on your phone.
You should get a confirmation on both the Kvt-514 and your phone that they are connected and you're good to go.
You can put a USB thumb drive in this port, and it will play mp3 files from that drive. You can also buy an iPod interface that will let you plug in an iPod or iPhone to the USB port.
on any of the KVT or DDX model kenwood radios, you can just ground the ebrake wire. which will allow you to watch video and have navi functions while driving. just connect it to the black wire of the kenwood or the metal chassis of your dash.
hope this helps
This is a faily simple fix. First of all, this USB will not be able to playback audio from an iPod or iPhone without using the correct cable. The cable needed has both USB and an audio plug on it. Here is a link to the Kenwood cable you will need:
