Question about Televison & Video

1 Answer

I have a Dish Network system with two receivers. One of them is a two room DVR. All is received thru one satellite dish that's been wired up with lots of splitters. The problem appears to be a connectivity issue that only exists on TV1. It is not getting any signal from that cable. TV2 comes in fine. I checked all cables at the ground level. Still havent checked connections at the dish yet. What could be causing this? Thanks.

There might few possibilities:
Loose cable from the receiver to the diplexers, switches and LNB.
Defective LNB.
I would suggest to try swapping the receivers to isolate the possibility that one the receivers might defective as well.
Hope this helps.

Receiver lost signal, cannot aquair

It sounds like the dish may be mis-pointed since it's not recognizing all the satellites. The next step for this would be to send a technician out to get everything fixed.

If you would like any assistance setting up a technician, just send me an email at thomas.faust@dish.com and I would be happy to help.

Hey there! Becki Barned from Dish Network customer service here!!! If you want to do this! You would need a tech to come out and install the DVRs in the new rooms. If you try to move the reveivers, you will only get an Acquiring Satellite Signal message. If this has not been resolved, you can find us on Twitter, or blog back!

Unhooked all lines in back of tv cant remember to rehook up have2

granmabj,

There are common connections to each receiver but there are unique connections also depending on the receiver. Solo receivers have a coax cable coming from the Dish outside connected to Satellite In. Duo receivers and DVR HD receivers have the coax cable that comes from the dish outside that connects to Satellite 1 and Satellite 2 using a splitter. There is also a cable (coax, RCA (yellow, white, red) or component (green, blue, red - video, white, red - audio) or an HDMI if HD) connected from the receiver to the TV 1. For a duo receiver TV 2 may be backfed on the cable coming from the dish outside using diplexers. This may sound confusing but you can call 1-800-333-3474 for assistance.

I have a 61.5 system with lagacy receivers, can I replace one of the lagacy receiver with a 625 DVR.

Yes! You can definitely upgrade one of your legacy receivers to a DVR-625 receiver. I would be more then happy to assist you with this upgrade, if you decide you would in fact like to do so. In addition, since we have migrated from the 61.5 satellite orbital (no longer use 61.5), we may need to also upgrade your current satellite DISH. In order to determine what EXACTLY will be necessary for you to upgrade your system, I would need to take a look at your DISH Network account. If you'd like me to look into this further for you, please feel free to contact me directly with your information. My e-mail is Kirstie.Filosa@Dishnetwork.com. I hope this helps & hope to hear from you soon!

My dish DVR HD control doesn't work

lumaes200,

You have indicated that you have a 622 DVR receiver, since this is where your posting was found. When you trying any of the DVR functions on the remote, do you get an error message (024 or 311) indicating that the function is not available at this time? If not, try unplugging the receiver for 10 seconds from the electrical outlet. This will reboot the receiver and re-acquire the satellite signal. Once the picture returns, try the DVR function. If the problem continues, please call 1-800-333-3474; we may need to replace the receiver. I hope this helps.

After programming my NEW Harmony One Logitech remote I can't get it to change channels on the Dish HDTV DVR along with a bunch of other problems.

To control a Dish Network PVR/Satellite, it needs to be set to respond to the default Remote Address (1).

To reset your Dish Network PVR/Satellite to the default Remote Address:

1. Press SYSTEM INFO on the receiver's front panel. The System Information screen displays on the nearby TV and shows the Remote Address.
2. Using the original Dish Network remote, press and hold SAT on your remote control for about three seconds, until all of the mode buttons light up, and then release SAT.
3. Using the NUMBER PAD, press the 1 button
4. Press POUND (#). If you entered the address correctly, SAT will flash three times.
5. Press RECORD. Make sure the Remote Address you see on the System Information screen is 1.
6. Press the SELECT button on the front panel to close the System Information screen.
7. Your Harmony remote should now control your Dish Network PVR/Satellite box

NOTE: Dish Network PVR/Satellite receivers sometimes have two tuners, allowing them to be used in more than one room on different TVs. Harmony remotes can only control a Dish Network receiver's main tuner while still in the same room with direct line of sight to the device.

What other issues are you having with the remote?

Dish Network DVR

You have what is called a diplexer in the back of the the receiver in the front room.It looks like a splitter. If it is put back on in the wrong way you will have a fuzzy screen.look at the diplexer, you will see in/out which would be the input on a regular splitter, then you will have one side that would be one of the 2 outputs that will say SAT,the other side is UHF/VHF.The chances are that when you plugged them back in you had them swapped.Try changing the 2 cables around. If that doesnt work try changing the assigned channel to 68.You can also try doing a auto channel search on the tv in the room without the receiver.this will find the channel that the front room receiver is broadcasting the signal on.Chances are though that your diplexer wires are configured incorrectly.remember, the in/out should plug into the back of the receiver (satellite in)and the UHF/VHF should be going to the other room with the problem and the SAT side of the diplexer should be wired to the satellite dish.GOOD LUCK! rate me with the outcome please.
