The conditioner isn't going through my machine

Clean conditioner compartment as you can see on bottom picture.
Be sure to read the instructions of the manufacturer of conditioner. Some manufacturers supply concentrated softener which should be diluted with water (is too dense and can clog small drain tube in softener compartment). Also make sure you do not fill up over sign MAX., otherwise softener may leak in drum before starting the washing machine.

The problem is simple: the fabric conditioner I put in the drawer compartment isn't draining into the main drum ... is still in the drawer when I empty the machine of my washed clothes. I've cleaned lots...

Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,
Sorry to ask and please don't take this the wrong way but did you manage to remove the whole dispenser drawer and clear out the siphoning tube in the conditioner tray when you cleaned the 'gunk' out? If not please try the following guidance notes, paying particular attention to the bit in bold near the end ;-0)
Remove the complete drawer. To do this you will have to do one of the following-
  • Top catch- push down the lip/catch at the middle rear and pull the drawer out (that's how our Bosch one is removed)
  • release the catches underneath (our daughter's Indesit) or
  • lift upwards on the tray as it is coming out to clear the lip underneath.
One of these should enable you remove it
(I am having to guess some of the following!)
Once out identify which tray is for the conditioner- the others are simply 'chutes' and open-ended.
It will normally have some sort of cover over it which you must remove to expose the little stuck up pipe/tube. On some models there is just a small individual cap over the tube. The tube is down which the conditioner and water should siphon. It is likely to be blocked by 'gunge'- a mix of powder and conditioner. The whole of the tray, particularly this pipe and the bit which fits over it, must be completely clean and clear for it to operate correctly. It is worthwhile checking fairly regularly.
If this does not work, pull out the dispenser drawer far enough to be able to just see the softener tray, select the (final?) rinse and check that water is entering the tray. If it isn't there is a fault with the water distribution and an engineer call is required ;-0(
Good luck,
John C

I have a Whirlpool Duet and the water is over flowing from the soap drawer. I have already cleaned out the soap drawer and tried flushing the opening that leads into the machine with a hose. Any other...

This is inevitably caused by a blockage. The small fabric conditioner compartment in the soap dispenser drawer has a removable plastic cap. This cap fits on the top of a tube which has a hole running through it where the water should siphon through.

When the time comes for the fabric conditioner to be released, cold water enters the small compartment and just washes the conditioner over the top and down the dispenser to the tub. When the water stops flowing, all that is left is the clear water. This water should siphon up the inside of the cap and down the tube.

This tube often gets blocked with the conditioner and if you remove the dispenser drawer and take off the cap you can give the whole thing a good clean out. If the cap is missing, the siphoning will not occur.

To test the function, hold the soap drawer under the tap and allow the water to fill the fabric compartment to overflowing. When you turn off the tap, the remaining water should slowly siphon out of the hole under the cap.

The conditioner compartment will not empty. Has

Suggest that the water inlet valve faulty or the timer is not sending electric feed to that valve at the time when the conditioner hose requires it.
If the conditioner is partly gone or is wet it could be too little water pressure to flush it down.check inlet valve filter.
If no joy sounds like a job for engineer,, sorry

Dose not take conditioner from draw on rinse cycle

Remove drawer from dispenser housing, and thoroughly clean all parts of it, removing any pieces inside the drawer, and again clean thoroughly.
Check to see if the sypon tube is clear in the conditioner compartment.
In the top oif the compartment, look to see if you can see any holes, and poke them clear with a piece of wire or similar.
This should solve the problem.

The fabric softner release has stopped working

Most likely the fabric soft dispenser is clogged . this happens when you wash alot in cold water the left over fabric softner get very pasty and can clog it up. You can try filling the dispenser with hot water and run a cycle with hot water this should unclog the dispenser .
