Question about Televison & Video
Television will not power up after electrical surge but timer led flashes. Any ideas? TV WILL NOT STAY ON. WHEN YOU TRY TO POWER UP THE RED LIGHT INDICATOR WILL NOT STAY ON. IT FLASHES AND GOES OFF AFTER 1 OR 2 SECONDS.. I'VE RESET THE POWER STRIP I'VE CHECKED ALL CONNECTIONS AND I'VE VACUUMED ALL DUST AROUND THE TV
When your set first turns on it runs a systems check to see if the boards inside are safe to apply voltage to. also it checks the power supply to see if it is safe to power up.
Either it needs a factory reset which the procedure changes for each model. or it simply has more wrong with it after the surge and requires more to fix it then the cost of a new set.
The best bet is to look on EBAY for a similar set with something like a broken screen. swap out your screen into its chassis.
if you do not feel up to the challenge of doing that you may be looking at repair costs and parts that are more then a new set.
