Question about Krups Caffe Bistro 867 Espresso & Coffee Maker

1 Answer

Mineral/calcium buildup When I make a pot of coffee it takes over an hour for the water to drip into the pot. From the start of the coffee making it sounds like the end of the cycle but there is only minimal dripping into the pot. I have tried running pots of vinegar and water through but it doesn't seem to solve the problem. Is there any way to take apart so we can see if the water chamber (long tube) is clogged? Thanks Marianne Miehle

I'm curious about the performance of the heater on this pot. Your output temp should be about 180 degrees F. Allow some of the water to run through the system and into a large mug. Measure the temp. If it is low, your problem may be the thermostat.

I have an older model cuisinart 12 cup coffee maker. This am the water will only slow drip through the filter. There is lots of gurgling but not much coffee. Can u help me figure out what's wrong?

Calcium buildup. Follow your coffee maker's manual cleaning procedures to dissolve the hardness buildup.

If you can't find your manual, try mixing 1-2 cup of white vinegar in an 8-oz to 12-oz pot of water and pour it into the water receptor. Run the coffee maker until about 1/2 the water has passed through the machine then turn it off and let it stand for awhile (say an hour). Then turn it back on and let it finish. This should dissolve the hardness buildup in the machine and restore the flow. If not repeat. If you use a paper filter during the process, you should capture all sorts of hardness particles.

After it's flowing good again, run with one or two pots of water to rinse.

Checking to see if the water line is clogged or broken on my cuisinart dcc1200 coffee maker. The water doesn't come out of the showerhead. Help!!

Most likely clogged with a calcium buildup. Run a solution of water and vinegar through the machine to dissolve the hardness buildup. Stop about 1/2 the way through and let it set for an hour. Turn back on and let it finish. Remember to run a pot of clean water through after to wash out the vinegar. (You may have to run more than one clean cycle if it's really clogged).

My Mr. Coffee is taking over an hour to brew a pot of coffee

Run a half a pot of vinegar through it then 2 or 3 pots of water. It's from lime and calcium deposits.

How do i clean my bunn air pot coffee brewer?

Run a pot of half water and half vinegar through the coffee pot and you may need to repeat this process a couple times to get all the calcium buildup cleaned out of the pot. Hope this helps.

Brewing time is too long 20 min for 6cups

You have an obstruction in the feed line to the heating element. I found coffee grounds before the check valve. I had to take the bottom off it which I am sure the manufacture wouldn't approve of but I was at my wits end and ready to toss it. I just brewed a full pot 10 minutes!!!

Takes forever to make a pot of coffee

Decalcify the water holder. Run some CLR and water thru the brew cycle.

Won't make full pot

Okay, try this, make sure that everything is cool first, then take a turkey baster full of hot water and vinegar and shoot it backwards through the coffee maker...where the water falls on to the grinds. After that, try running either a commercial coffee pot cleaner or just again, vinegar through the brew cycle with no coffee in there. Try it two or three times, there may be calcium buildup in the filter and pump. You could also try that CLR cleaner, but make sure you rinse the pot out really good, and run a few cycles of just water before you drink anything from it.

Hope this makes sense and helps you out!

Cuisinart grind and brew

This happens when the machine needs cleaned. Fill coffee maker with white vineger instead of water. Turn grind off, make sure empty pot is in place. Brew a pot of hot vineger. Repeat. Brew a pot of hot water. Repeat. This process removes mineral buildups inside machine. If you have access to filtered water, start using that to brew your coffee. I do and probably do this process 1 per 6 weeks.
