The problem is a bit more internal, what you need to do first is to take the battery out of the phone and restart it by putting battery back in..if problem persist, you will have to take it in a repair center for the Flex cable of the keypad module to be reset, meaning snapped back in.
Also while you have the battery out check to see if the white circular dot is RED or still WHITE, if its RED that is bad news because the phone might be "MOISTURE DAMAGED" but if still white, you might still be in good shape...The dot is on the phone usually right behid battery...hope this helps
