Probably .... though it depends what sound card or chipset you have ... There are many...
If your PC was working fine until recently ... and you use XP ... Go to START .. Accessories... SYSTEM TOOLS and Choose 'Restore' You can restore your computer to an earlier date (the dates will be shown in BOLD for you to choose from)
Failing that, and you don't know what sound card or chipset you have, go to a webiste like http://www.driverdownloadcenter.com/ddtdowntwo.html?msnUKS&match=e&searchwords=driver%20detective&adnumber=202789854
and see if it will identify and download (for free..) your drivers.
Or search for 'driver detective' and downloadf it. No need to pay .. it will scan your pc and tell you what drivers are missing or need updating. Note down the drivers you need when Driver Detective finishes the scan, thewn do a google search for them.
You'll fix it in due course without having to pay ..
And if you know the name-type of your sound card .. visit the manufacturers website. They usually have downloadable drivers (and Cnet.com .. driverguide.com etc..)
