It's not your driver. It's the video cable from the computer to the monitor.

Move it around at both ends and your colour will return to normal.

Either replace the cable or find where it is happy and then hold it in that position with something.

It's a common fault to all monitor cables..and nearly always the red wire.

No, there will be a cable that will run from the back of your computer to the back of the monitor. There will only be one cable doing this unless you have your power for the monitor also connected to the both.

The cable will have a solid looking connecter on it, and have 2 twist screws to hold it in place at each end. Just move the cable around without removing the twist screws.

There is a Wake On LAN support on netvista 6792
and possibly this may be the reason

First, go into your BIOS, find the PnP hardware settings and disable Wake-on-LAN (it may be in a different category depending on your BIOS).

Hmm, have you gotten the latest video driver from the manufacturer?

Also, What resolution are you running? and what resolution do you need to reach?

More info on the PC like Video Card/Monitor Make and models would be valuable.

Thanks!

I went and bought new ram for my computer. it's an IBM desktop. type 6792. a pc133 512MB sdram. my computer will not pick it up. how do i get the computer to pick up the ram? it is the right kind of ram?

I checked at http://www.buffalotech.com/products/memory/select/select-dimm/ and according the the memory configurator there your IBM Netvista 6792 takes this type of memory which can be ordered from them PC-133mhz SDRAM DIMM 168 pin, it indicated that your pc has 3 slots for memory and the maximum size you can put in each slot is 512 MB which would give you the maximum memory of 1536 MB. I have had problems in the past when replacing memory in IBM PC's some modules won't work because IBM uses different memory than other Manufacturers. But give Buffalo a try, their memory is guaranteed.

Dark Grey Vertical Bar

1. try connecting laptop to an external monitor and check if this vertical dark gray bar appears. if yes it means video is the problem. you need to boot in safe mode then uninstall the video driver. boot to notmal mode then download and install the latest video driver. if still same problem then replace video card. if video is built in with motherboard you need to replace motherboard.

2. when the vertical dark gray bar did not appear in the external monitor then it means issue is with the LCD panel. Do this turn off laptop. press and hold D key then press Power button at the same time or Press and hold on the Fn key then Power button check if the test will run. Color displays full screen when you keep pressing on N key when the colors appears check the vertical dark gray bar if still exist in the test, this means LCD panel and LCD cable needs to be replaced.
