Question about Whirlpool Estate TAWS750PQ 27-Inch Washer

1 Answer

Repair man says washer hose must be off ground for proper draining

Washer was repaired after giving trouble with draining. Repairman says it was our fault because hose goes directly down to floor drain and not into a wash tub.
This sure sound strange. I would think it would drain better with hose going immediately down to floor drain but repairman says they aren't designed for that and that drain problems were our fault.
We have a very small home on a slab and the washer, dryer, furnace, and hot water heater are all in a row inside a closet in the kitchen. There is no room for a wash tub. The washer is the furthest from the drain(drain is in front of Hot water heater) the drain hose goes down to the floor and over to the floor drain(about 5 ft)
Could this be causing the Estate washer drain function to fail?

Yes drain should be at least 36 inches from floorif hose outlet falls below water height in tub water will siphon out faster than it runs in try installing 1 and quarter diameter pipe into floor drain and dropping end of hose into it

Make sure the drain hose is about 1 metre high from ground. If drain hose is lower the water will keep draining.

Kenmore elite oasis model 110.27032600 LF error. had an issue with the washer cycling through all the lights, would turn it self on etc. Had the repair man come out and he replaced the computer board....

The LF error means Long Fill.

When you start a cycle the water should come into the dispensers. If you have a good flow through the dispenser the valves will be okay.

I recommend checking the inlet water screens on the back of the washer. The inlet screens are located on the water valve. To access the screens you will turn the water off and remove the inlet hoses. The screens prevent debris from entering the valve and sometimes over time mineral deposits build up on the screens. This can block the water or slow the water fills down to a trickle. You can pull the screens out and clean them if necessary. Flush the inlets thoroughly with water when replacing the screens. If debris gets past the screens, it can cause the valves to stick open and an overflow of water can result.

While you have the fill hoses disconnected, place the ends of the hoses in a bucket and briefly turn on the faucets to check for proper water pressure and flow from both hoses.

A common reason for an L F (long fill) error on this washer is the drain hose being stuck to far down the drain standpipe.

If the drain hose is to far down the standpipe then a siphon can occur which causes the washer to fill and drain at the same time. This will cause a long fill error.

Mach. does not spin or drain but agitates

I am not a repair professional. I am a 78 year old man who has been making his own repairs for about 50 years. So the washer or dryer ID doesn't mean much to me. I came to fixya looking for a schematic for an really old AM/FM radio and found that more than 4,700 people were asking for help with a washer repair. I recently had a washer repair of my own and at that time I found an excellent video which showed me how to take my machine apart. This video made it possible for me to do my own repair. If you are repairing a dryer or a front load washer I suggest you
go to www.applianceaid.com where they have very good step by step trouble shooting and repair information on both washers and dryers as well as other appliances. If you have a direct drive top load washer and need help taking it apart this video is an early christmas present. I was so impressed with it that when I saw all these people needing help, I wanted to tell them about it. If you look at the back of your washer and the panel is solid (no small inspection plate to remove which would indicate you have a v-belt drive) chances are you have a direct drive and this video is just what you need. You can see it at www.acmehowto.com You will probably still need help in determining what the trouble is and how to fix it. After viewing the video or if you have a v-belt drive rather than a direct drive, I suggest you go to www.applianceaid.com where they have very good
trouble shooting and repair nformation on most
washers and dryers. I think you'll find what you need
there. Don't worry about the timer, they hardly ever
go bad. Good luck with it. If I have helped you, please rate my advice on fixya.

Will not drain

Remove the round cover under the door (you have to turn it counterclockwise I believe)and you'll get to the drain pump and a dinky black hose with a cap on it. Drain all water through that hose and unscrew the pump cap. Check for debris and remove if any. Put cap back on to the pump. Start and immediately stop any wash cycle. The door should unlock. If there was no debris in the pump and there is power to it during the drain cycle - replace pump.

I have an error message HF

I suspect that you are getting the FH fault code that indicates a long fill on many of the Kenmore washer models. Here are some tips that might help:
  • If you are using a Flood Save device as shown in the image below for your fill hoses, this could be causing your problem. This type of device will not work on washers.
  • Make sure that the hot and cold faucets behind the washer are both turned fully on.
  • Turn the water supply faucet off. Disconnect the hoses from the back panel of the washer. Check the inlet water supply screens on the back of the washer. Clean any deposits and debris. Thoroughly flush this area with water to keep any debris from making it past the screens and into the inlet water valves. Debris can corrupt these valves and could cause them to leak.
  • Put the ends of the fill hoses into a bucket and briefly turn on the water supply faucets to check the water pressure and volume flowing through the fill hoses. If the pressure or volume is low, check the hoses for clogs. If the hoses are okay, then you will need a plumber to fix the water supply to the washer.
  • A failed water level pressure switch or flow meter could cause this problem on some models of Kenmore washers.
  • Check the installation of your drain hose. Make sure that it complies with installation guidelines. An improperly installed drain system can result in the siphoning of fill water through the drain during the filling of the tub.
If these tips do not help, resubmit your question with additional details

Fisher and Paykel Washer leaking water

hi there,

the leak underneath could be from the pump or the drain hose. some washers have a tub to pump boot that sometimes springs a leak.

for a 4-month-old washer, i would certainly hope you pay nothing. F&P appliances come with at least a 2 year warranty. check your user & care guide for warranty information.

I think I figured this one out. I think it means that the washer is not able to drain, therefore it won't spin either. Underneath the washer is a series of outlet hoses and within one of them is a filter. When I finally found the filter it was clogged up with lint, fibers from a pillow and coins. You have to dig the filter out and then clean the filter and rehook up the hoses, this was relatively simple even for me. The washer works perfectly now.
