When an error
indication appears, the camcorder turns off
automatically. Remove the power supply
(battery, etc.) and wait a few minutes for the
indication to clear. When it does, you can
resume using the camcorder. If the indication
remains, consult your nearest JVC dealer.

LENS CAP ERROR APPEARS WHEN LENS CAP IS ON OR IF ITS DARK, ctry changing settings as well/ or modes on camera

Hi,

You will have to send it to repair. Did you drop it anytime?this problem is just the CCD circuit. This is the only way to fix it up.

Goodluck,

It is lens cap sensor error

First take battery out an put back in, to reset camera.
If it does not clear the error , that means the lens sensor is stuck or lens mechanics are defective. Try playing with the lens zoom when you start up the camera, check if the zoom mechanism is stuck or is moving.

There is a good chance that the iris is stuck shut. Try tapping the side of the camera lightly to try and release it. If the camera can show you old pictures that are currently stored correctly, I would suspect the iris.

Looking through the problems posted for all jvc camcorders it became obvious that mine was CCD problem, encountered by many others. Also jvc are fixing this for free, so if you have this problem go to a jvc sevice centre and you should have no problems. Suffice to say this site was invaluable in diagnosing my problem, and you have been recommended to my friends. Thankyou, I'll be back.
