Question about HP Nc6320 Notebook
Hi thought it was the power lead was damage got new one ,put it in the back of the computer nothing no lights .even got a new battery but still ,nothing can you help ,uk member, thanks
Unfortunatly if you have replaced the power pack (i will assume that what you meant by the lead) and the battery, then the only real thing it can be is the bit in the middle... The motherboard has suffered some form of damage or failure.
First things first though..
A new battery will not normally come precharged. If you can find someone who has a similar laptop, try to charge your battery in that and try it back in yours again. Also ask at a laptop shop if they could possibly try charging it up. They may make you pay for it, they may do it for free in the event you will become a customer =)
Get the power pack checked using a multimeter to see if it does indeed have the correct voltages and is working correctly.
If it is, then you may have a damaged power connector on the motherboard, though this is normally a problem you will notice as it slowly breaks away and you have to wriggle the cord to get it to work.
Failing those it will be a motherbaord failure. This is not a cheap repair. Replaceent boards will normally run almost if not more then the cost of the laptop. It's their way of telling you they have a sense of humor.
