Why does my GE Dryer trip the main breaker after about 10 minutes of being on?

If it smalls 'fishy', it is overheating at the motor windings. That would not cause the dryers thermal fuses to trip. Dryers don't normally have an internal breaker. Remove the motor, strip and clean it. Lubricate the bearings. It should spin very freely.

Dryer was running and hot then just stop working

It may have overheated and tripped the little breaker on the dryer if fitted. If it is fitted there should be a small reset button on the rear of the dryer, once pressed it should work again. Cause of overheating may be caused by filter being clogged with fluff.

Dryer Repeatedly tripping circuit breaker, Apartment Maintenance man said we had a defective dryer, Bought new dryer and 5 minutes after first load was put in it tripped the breaker, Maintenance man...

You probably have a bad plug connection, make sure all the wiring in there is tight, you may see signs of arcing. A bad connection causes resistance, and therefore causes the breakers to trip. It is best to replace the receptacle on the wall outlet with a new one because the problem will just resurface again soon.

The dryer keep tripping the breaker

It sounds like the current draw is too high This would be due to overload of dryer, motor overheating binding of the drum assy.. First re level the dryer, next disconnect the power and Vacume out the lint inside around moter, try spinning the drum manually to see if it moves freely( some resistance is ok) Another possibility can be lose electrical connections on the breaker or outlet. Disconnect power before testing. Let me know if these tips helped solve issue

Dryer is overheating and tripping the breaker after 40 minutes

Is the dryer tub turning as fast as it should? If not the dryer motor bearings or sleeves may be trying to seize causing the motor to decrease in speed therefore the lack of fan action will cause the dryer to overheat.

Dry trips breaker

breaker is tripping from faulty insulation allowing current to ground
breakers work on milliamp current so it requires a mega meter to check the insulation
call a qualified electrician to check the unit

DLE2532W electric dryer: BLOWN CIRCUIT BREAKER

I would check the wire at the breaker for a poor connection causing arcing and excessive heating causing the breaker to trip....with the breaker off, loosen the binding screw on the wire and check the wire for any signs of arcing. reattach the wire and tighten binding screw snugly.

another though, ensure there are no other devices connected to the wire that is heating.
